Ok....I know this question has probably been answered a 100 times...please be patient with me! Today I am going to venture out into this deep freeze we are having outside and take a look at this whole subwoofer thing. Does anyone recommend the best way to do this? Should I yank the back seat out? Or is there a better way? Am I looking for some 6x9 piece of black foam? Any hints would be appreciated like no other. Thanks for your reply! ---prideandjoy.
If there is any sound coming out of the subwoofer then the ground wire is attached and you do not have to remove the rear seat. If there is no sound the ground wire behind the rear seat will need to be checked. I checked my car out by dropping the whole subwoofer/amplifier assembly down next to the spare tire. Remove the spare tire and unscrew the 4 nuts holding the subwoofer/amplifier up against the bottom of the package shelf. Pull the assembly down and look up. If you see the grayish foam, pull it down and out.
Also joflewbyu2@aol.com posted a topic about the rear speaker replacement and said that you can reach the foam cutout if you remove the driver's side rear speaker and slid your hand under the package shelf.
Either way is up to you.
