 I hate when that happens!Takin the Twins (daughters)and a friend to the high school,I got my second ticket in a year.I havent got a ticket (until I got a M A R A D E R !!!)since the mid 80's. I pulled out on to a rural two lane 45 mph zone no traffic either way so I push half way down and right before it shifts 1-2 I nail it (I love to do that !!)then I leave her alone back to speed limit. It's only 1/2 mi to the stoplight where I'm making a left (we get a green arrow)This iswhere I spot Mr LEO turning left also. I go about .3 mi and the Gumballs go off,I pull to the shoulder.I open the window and greet him politely(handing him my DL, Ins. card and REG.)He asked me if I knew the posted speed limit,I replied "Yes Sir It's 45"He responded "Do you know how fast you were going?"I said "No Sir!" Which was true to a point but I get very nervous especially If the LEO is a Hard AZZ!He replied "63", He then told me that he was going to; and gave me a speeding ticket. It was the most through explaination of a No hassel, on the internet Traffic school, Mail your fine, supervision served, I have ever heard. The strangest thing of all though came when he turned to get back into the Squadcar.he said verbatem the exact opposite thing the last LEO's parting words:1st ticket;"Try not to let this ruin your day,or what's left(night time)" 2nd ticket;"Now... ,Try and have a better day! I wish I could type the inflection in his voice.I was'nt alone in my thoughts when I heard from the backseat "he must be hav'in a bad day"
so when I left I did'nt lay rubber (I'm not that stupid)but lets say he heard me leave:o

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I, too, was stopped Friday morning on my way to work. Several Pearl, MS
police cars were attending the cleanup from an accident.
As soon as I was clear of them I shifted into passing gear (WOT). Yes, I too enjoy this greatly. Well the officers on
the scene took great umbrage and two of the jumped in their cars to pursue. They caught up a couple of miles later and I explained to the very nice officer that I was "just
getting back to the speed limit" (yeah, right). He took my
license and insurance card and upon his return he told
me that he wouldn't cite me for reckless driving, since it
was not reckless, and that I should not "race" my engine
in Pearl, MS since it caused people (the police) to, in his
words, freak-out. I thanked him and was on my way.

Thats strange, I drive in the 85-95 range, with occasional spurts into the 120's and never get a ticket. HuH.

I don't wish to sound like a 'grunge' here...but let me just say that I have had the dubious honor at one time (a long time ago), to get speeding tickets beyond your imagination. Municipal court judges (Kansas City) knew me by my first name!! At best, a GOOD lawyer could only keep me out of jail...I seldom, if ever, beat the rap.

The advent of radar detectors has been notably helpful since but still the black cloud of potential is very much alive in my personal world.
That fact has been a major impediment to my decision for any speed mods to my Marauder. It will get me all the tickets I can't afford at its present ability.

I have found the law of averages not to be in my favor for avoiding confrontations with the constabulary. Hell, I can't even win a damn free lottery ticket!!

So, speed on folks...those of you with clean records and those of you with lotsa moolah.
In my state, 8 points will get you grounded.
Now how would it look to have a fully modded MM and NOT be able to drive it for lack of a license or the ability to get insurance at a cost less than your total monthly income??

CERTAINLY something to think about at the next green light burnout or WOT launch!!

Last ticket I got was in my Bonneville SSEI...even though the accident occured in front of the LOCAL constable and witnesses made staements as to it not being my fault, I was charged with too fast for conditions. I was doing 42 in a 45 zone...got to court, fought it and won. That LEO has recently been brought down in a drug/porn scam...Payback is sweet...

Sorry to hear about your misfortune...Whenever I get speeding tickets they ALWAYS come in threes!! Luckily, I've been a good boy (or maybe just lucky) for a few years.
