Hey all,
Its winter wheels and snows for me this year.
Does anyone have a pic of what the tirerack steel wheels look like? I spoke with Cy and he said they are just plain. Someone had previously posted a link (from last year) but it no longer works.
Is this pic the tirerack wheels?

Or are these CV wheels? If so - how much do these cost?
Thanks!

That's a pic of the steel rims, which came with the DTD Winter Tire package. The brand name is "Unique" and you can buy them from tires.com. They cost appx. $60 each. Be warned that you may have some slight interference issues between inside of rim and your front calipers. I had to grind about 1/32" from the top of my calipers. Others didn't have to do anything, with the same wheels.
Go with the 2003 CVPI wheels. They are a better fit, and if you care, you will have more hubcap options.
Good luck.

Steve, I question if the person at Tirerack that you spoke to knows what he's talking about because below is a pic of the 16" wheels that Tirerack advertises on their website. As you can see, they're painted wheels, but they have slots also.

Since I painted my calipers I'd be a little concerned about fit and possible grinding.
The tirerack steelies look fine (I had to tell it I had a 2003 crown vic to find them). I'm surprised the guy on the phone said they were all steel with no slots. Particularly since it was this Cy guy that folks have worked with in the past for winter wheel packages.
Looks like I'll be going with the tirerack steelies...
Thanks

Just to be sure that you know, the wheels that the pic I posted shows, come in 16". They don't come in 18". So if you're buying 16" snows, then they will be fine.

I just got a package from the Tire Rack. Those rims with the slots have a Ford number on them, but were cheaper at the Tire Rack. I work at a Ford dealer, too. You do need to remind them it is a Marauder and you need two different sizes front and rear. I went with the Blizzacks. I went through last winter on the stock tires and it wasn't too bad. I wouldn't have made it this year though as the back ones wore down like everyone elses. I picked up replacements in August when the Tire Rack had the rears on sale. I'll get them mounted late in the winter and get an alignment when I got the stocks back on.

That's them.
I had a pic of mine posted a long time back, but it's gone. I'm on the road or I would reupload it. I used 16" steelies for a '98 marquis. They are similar, but slottless. I like the look better.

There are no interference issues with tireracks wheel. I put mine on last week. Heres the thread I posted on hub caps for the wheels http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13765
