Hello everybody, new member here. Bought a 98 Grand Marquis GS in September for the wife and new granddaughter to ride around in. It was time to replace the aging Escort anyway, and I couldnt afford an Escape like the better half wanted. Car has only 19500 miles on it and was a trade in on a new model. So far I love this "poor mans Town Car", but wish it had duals like the LS model does. Does anybody here know exactly what I will need to buy to convert it over and approx price I should expect to pay at the local muffler shop. Also, is the stock system stainless or not....any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.

98MGMGS,

I think your best bet is to hit Midas or a local muffler shop and see what they can do for you. According to the 98 Order Guide, located here: https://web.msslib2.dealerconnection.c om/RightSite/getobject/www/og?make=Mercury the 98 did have a stainless steel exhaust. Unless you intend to keep the car for a long time it may not be worth paying for stainless, once again your local shop can best advise you... As for price that varies too much by area for me to guess at..

From what I hear, you can get a performance cat-back system from Flowmaster I think...? Ask LighteningVic, he was the one who told me about this.
