As many of you know, my dogs mean a whole lot to me. Unfortunately my boy Stanley has been very sick and is back in the hospital (again) for the third time in a month. :(

If y'all would think a few kind thoughts about him and put him in your prayers, I sure would aprpeciate it.

Thanks!

Todd - Thanks for your good wishes for our boy Stan, but I must take exception to your comment about Stella. The only reason she kept running away from you that day, was because she felt that you had had one too many quad vente no foam ["filled to the top"] lattes and could use a little exercise. :D

Think of it this way, Stella took you on a walking tour of our neighborhood, she hopes liked it. :dogrun:

By the way - I was at the hospital this evening to visit Stan, and he looked to be in good spirits, especially after I gave him a few treats. He is not out of the woods yet, so please everyone keep the prayers and good wishes coming.

Thanks for asking folks.

Stanley is still in the hospital and looks like he will be there until Wednesday.

They performed more surgery on him on Friday to attempt to remove some infected tissue.

Call me corny if you will, but I miss him like mad!!!

I spent a whole bunch of quality time with Stella this weekend who, while I know she misses her brother, sure seems to enjoying being the Queen!

The infection is cleared and he seems to be out of the woods. So, now we just have to wait a few more days to see how his knee joint faired through this ordeal.

The doctor was optimistic, so I am as well.

Keep thinking positive thoughts for Stanley. I truly appreciate the encouragement I have gotten from all of you. My dogs mean a lot to me.

I just got back from from the Vet with Stanley.

He got his stitches out, which is good. He still needs to wear his "E Collar" when he is not supervised so he doesn't fuss with his incisions, but he is definitely heading in the right direction. In fact, the doctor said that he can start getting some exercise too! Now I just need to keep Stella from tackling him.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I had to put my dog down three weeks ago tomorrow. We had him for 15 1/2 years. Talk about part of the family. We cannot believe the difference without him. My son was only 15 when we got him, his 30th birtday is next week. The house is so lonely without him. When I'm home alone, I have no one to talk to. Me and my son both smoke. We don't smoke in the house. Whenever we would go out in the back yard to smoke, Barney came with us. It was a guy thing. My wife is devistated. My son is too. My daughter got married 18 months ago, so it's not as bad for her, she was 12 when we got him. His ashes are on out mantle. Life will never be the same without Barney!!!
