I have heard from diffrent people that the 1-2 shift is very harsh if you leave the springs out.
Can anyone that has this $500.00 kit tell me what you like or dislike. I want to learn from you guys so I can modify the kit if need be.
Thanks, Greg (maraudernkc)

:twocents: I've got this kit and I like everything about it. I also have the 4.10 rear end and the Stallion 3k T/C. Is the 1-2 shift harsh? Not to me. Will it snap my head back into the headrest? Yes, if I want it to and no if I don't. It took me a hundred miles or so to learn how to feather/back off the throttle to soften the shift when I wanted to do that. Or to bark the tires when I wanted to do that. I love it the way it is and wouldn't change a thing about it. However, 99% of the time I'm in the car alone, so I don't have to accomodate kids, wife, cargo, the dog, etc. If I did have these other considerations I could see how some might prefer to soften it a bit. Me, I just do it with my right foot. The kit really makes a dramatic difference. For the better. If I could put two of 'em in there I would.

Wrong.
The way this kit was designed, in conjunction with valve body seperator plate mods, the pressure ramps up to full. It does not all come on at once.
I have the Jerry W. mod as well as increased pressures in the computer and all Ive fried is the OD band, which has nothing to do with the kit.

I know very little about automatic transmissions and defer to those who know more than I. However, given his track record, in both senses of the phrase, I doubt if Dennnis Reinhart would have sold me something that would shorten the life of my AT without having so informed me first.

Mine works great. Line pressure and shift points can be adjusted with the PCM flash or a chip.

Do you guys think you should leave the 1 2 spring out?

You do not leave out the Accumulator, you can leave out the spring, but this makes for a very firm shift, Jerry told me about this years ago, I have not done this. This is a very good kit and any one with 4R70W experience can Taylor the shift pressure, to your own desire now on the first kits the Ford tech installed a metal stop in place of the spring, Tim had that and it made for a very firm 1/2 shift, so I explained to him he can install the factory blue springs back and he did and he likes this much better. And I do not recommend the trans go shift kit there is no need for this if you build the trans right.
