14.5 in a stock Marauder...stock right? Impressive. It's starting look like the '04's are be something to reckon with as they get modded out.

Nice.

Hope Linda is well, she must be proud.

Ran a 14.26, and followed it up with a 14.051@98.87 about 1:30 hrs later on my second and last run of the day. The Kook's cut .51 off my best. Enjoyed meeting all of you. Too bad, we couldn't get in more runs. But check out my trophy from my Michigan trip

Looked like a small animal on Rt. 2 in Huron, thought that I would straddle it. Well it flew up, just as I got there. Glanced top of bumper, into grille and then into windshield. Diane said that it looked like a mallard duck sitting on road, possibly getting ready to sleep. and I surprised it. When I pulled off at Amherst exit, I stopped to see if I needed to spray off any blood, etc. Imagine my surprise to find my grille destroyed. I was worried that it may have been cracked, but oh well, cracked or destroyed, still has to be replaced. At least no body damage to repair and repaint.

That'll teach me to do speed limit, If I'd been going faster, he'd have kissed my license plate or lower. :shake:

Damn Ken!

First off you didn't tell us you were going to race, you made some killer times, and then you go and off a waterfowl.....:P

Sorry to hear about your damage, but look at this way, you were about to do a grill mod anyway, and if you weren't...you are now.

Was it in season?

Sorry about the grille, are there enough parts left to combine with another one to make a badgeless one?

Ain't nothin' wrong with a little road-kill, now and then...but...it looks like this one would only have somethin' left to boil up some stock.

Nice numbers, Ken !!! Sorry to hear about your grill. It does certainly seem like the Marauder attracts more than its share of actual and near bird strikes. Maybe MMs are operating in the fowl stealth mode. I had a few close calls myself with birds. :dunno:

We saw a few on the way up in the morning in that area. We were on the edge of Old Woman's Creek Nature Preserve, where we have seen a Bald Eagle flying. Thank God, this wasn't one, or MM would have been wasted, from the impact or subsequent possible crash resulting from swerve as we were about to cross a bridge. Although we would have seen a Bald Eagle sooner, due to the sheer size.

Great times Ken. It was also a real pleasure to get a chance to meet you.

Sorry for the grill damage. Perhaps this is a chance to get on of those badgeless grills?

Red Tail Hawks are very common around here. In fact, of the genus Buteo, they are the most common throughout the United States. We see one on every third light pole around here, and they will occationally grab mice from my back yard.

I have never seen one eating carrion though....most unusual.
