I modified my rearview mirror adding a panoramic mirror overtop.

Is there anyway to have the old mirror stay OFF without having to unplug it??

It seems to reset to "AUTO" each time the car is started. This is odd as it negates the need for an OFF button and a "AUTO" button.

Do you have any pics. Enquiring minds want to see. :nerd:

You can unplug the mirror from the back.

You can tint your rear window. Wasn't trying, but a legal dose of tinting keeps mine from working.

Speaking of mirrors, I've been meaning to ditch my factory mirror and replace it with a nice aftermarket one (reason: factory mirror obstructs view too much--it's just too low). Anyone ever see a nice selection of aftermarket rearview mirrors online or retail? Everytime I look (either online or a at retail store), they only have couple to choose from (non-clip-on type, permamnent-mount). Even at a large ricer specialty store in Orange County, CA, they only had one or two to choose from. Thanks.

Don't worry about it. The automatic feature only darkens the glass at night and only when a bright enough light hits it, and you have it covered up right?

Oh, and NBC, I'm a tall guy (6'5") and I really think the things too low. I've tried putting it to the left and to the right, but the problem seems to be that compass, map light thingy. I'm thinking about moving the mount, maybe to the left and up about an inch or two. Sure it'll be behind the visor, but I never use the visor while I'm driving anyways.

If that is the case, then buy another mirror piece. It beats trying to remove the old one and then possibly breaking the windshield.

Just my .02 and then some.

BTW Dave, are you coming saturday?

Just be careful Shooter...the reason for it being so low is to clear the overhead console.

ALSO: Beware in ordering a replacement rearview mirror...I saw one on Friday being replaced for a friend of mine, and if you have an '03 300A...they've changed the part AND part # for replacement. The new one does NOT come with the 2 buttons on the bottom.

BTW Dave, are you coming saturday? There is a rear view mirror adhesive remover you can buy that will get the slug off the glass, no problem.

Yes, I will be there to show off my new KVR brakes, which BTW are over working my ABS motors. Hope they hold up. :D More brakes than the car can use! I like that part.

I washed and waxed her today so I can do a spit shine & detail saturday morning.
