Yes. Yes. And no problems with clearance, but keep in mind...I have these on the rear instead of the "fat & junky" Tokico OEMs...

KDW2s...and they most certainly are better than the OEMs...

I can't say just for the tires, as I had a complete new, custom QA1 front and rear system put in at the same time. Which BTW...made the ride MUCH better than stock in several ways...lowered, sporty, yet smooth as silk over large bumps. PLUS...it ALWAYS feels good to have fresh "meats" on!

Atleast I have enough faculties today to actually see your links.:P
I like your choice of sizes. Many of us, me included, took advantage of Tire Racks awesome sale on our OEM tires last month, therefore new tires are now 10-12,000 miles out again.
Perhaps in the coming months BFG will offer exact OEM sizes for those of us reluctant to alter sizes. Actually, I don't really care, I just look back and wished I had waited to buy. But $89 per tire was hard to resist.
The g-Force T/A KDW-2 tires feature subtle black letter styling and will initially be available in selected sizes. Sizes will expand throughout the year to include 60-, 55-, 50-, 45-, 40-, and 35-series, V- and Z-speed rated sizes for 17" to 24" wheel diameters.
The link Tod posted above tells some of the story, I think I'll call and find out every size in 18 available at this time.
EDIT: Apparently there is a vast selection already available in 18".
Check THIS (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=BFGoodrich&model=g-Force+T%2FA+KDW+2&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&partnum=555VR8GFTAKDW2RF) out!

Well I think I just found my new tires for the OE wheels. TAF you are blazing a path for all of us. The 255/55/18 rear tire is 29 inches tall !!! 24mpg here I come. Good max load rating too, 2271 lbs. Stock is 1929 lbs.

TAF why is the center section of your brake rotor brown? Also what lugs are you using, are they lightweight?

Thanks Todd, ordered the rears they were bald at 12K, will wait a little while to replace the fronts.
TAF why is the center section of your brake rotor brown? Also what lugs are you using, are they lightweight?'Cause I just washed the car late yesterday and the wheel stuff I use puts "gunk" on the rotors until I take it out and drive it...then it goes away. I washed the car and put her to bed last night...just pulled it out for these pics.
Lugs...these are some special lugs that we found for Marty's car at a high-end wheel wholesaler here in Atlanta. They are SWEET! We got "keys" for them as well...I think they look MUCH better than having one lug like the McGard stuff...unless "carl Criminal" is totin' around an airgun and the correct allen-head key...he ain't gettin these off.

That design has been around for almost two years. What is new is the many more sizes that are now available. Thanks for the update as I'm nearing 14,000 miles with winter coming on.

IMO The new design looks like you will have greater traction and somewhat louder than the factory tires.

I'm really loving the tread design but am not crazy about the bigger size difference front to rear because of the 255/55-18. Either way, I was considering these becasue my rears are almost gone at 19k miles.

These are the same tires I bought in May of this year. Great traction and only neglible noise difference.
BTW, it is interesting the difference in reactions to TAF having done this and when I requested information about these tires before I purchased them. Not so many nay sayers for TAF.

So...are they wearing well for you? What PSI are you running? (I've got 35 PSI all the way around and it feels good)

Yes the tires are wearing great, tremendous improvement over the KDWS, especially in the traction department. As far as the wear, I don't have a 6k baseline from my OEM's for a comparison so wouldn't help much to measure tread at this point.
The other comments were not meant for you, TAF. You would have to have been there I guess. :burnout:

Can someone give me the width increase of the 285/60-18 over the OEM rear 245/55s. Also, what is the height difference between these two tires. What is the opinion of the new 285/60s as a replacement for the 245/55s?

Glenn,
I'm certainly not a tire expert..but, I worked with SHANKIN to determine whether the 255/55/18s I went with would accomplish what I wanted to accomplish. CLICK HERE (http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/gforce_ta_kdw.pdf) for a complete listing of the sizes/specs of these. You'll see the rim variances and the diameter measurements.
Hope this helps. If all else fails...do what I did and ask SHANKIN this Saturday after breakfast.

I think 285/60-18 may be too tall to even fit in the rear fender well. The width works but the height almost 3" taller than the stock 245/55-18.

That's waaay too tall a tire! If you really want to go wide (keeping with the stock rim), why not try 285/40-18 out back, and 245/40-18 up front?
This combo keeps the original 1.05:1 ratio for tire height. It's actually a little more than an inch shorter, but that shouldn't be too noticeable, if at all. Also, it would impact your effective rearend ratio (stock gears would be like having 3.75's), but a tuner could easily compensate.

Any report on how these do in the water? It rains here :o
I have been happy with the OEMs for summer driving but need a bit more traction after I get the 4:10 gears installed (soon I hope). I leave 20 feet of rubber on dry pavement now and am afraid what the gears will do to me and my tires :burn:

I just ordered a set. Anybody know why the fronts are more expensive then the rears (+$70 per)? It seems bass akwards to me. There's more material in the larger rears.

Not unlike the OEM sizes, with the rears being much more expensive than the front. The front being a much more popular size they run more (seems to me it would be the other way, but that's what TireRack told me).
BTW...update...we had some "frog-stanglin' rain" for the last 3 days....I was out and about all day on Tuesday and these things are INCREDIBLE in the rain. I couldn't believe the size of puddles/running across the road water I was hitting with NO hydroplaning. I drove through stuff that wih the OEM tires...I just know I'd start to feel the front give-way. No problems with these things.

They are the "Mac-Daddy" tire for those of us wanting to do more than go straight.....
.....You're going to LOVE these tires. I think they are the quintessential tire for the Marauder that wants to do more than 1320 ft in a straight line.
Now...for the FULL affect...get those fronts and you'll grip the dry road like never before, and in the rain...fagetaboutit....these things won't hydroplane if you try. They are phenomenal all around! Congrats!
