Hey!

Well, I finally got around to dumping my dynotune file (re-tweaked by Jerry/Chris many times) out of my EEC and loading in SCT's "stock" 91-octane "performance" file. And finally . . . no more pinging! This file also has the "TC lock-up" parameter modified (don't ask me how to do this--SCT did it for me) to hold the RPMs higher to also help reduce low-RPM strain. Before, pinging still persisted even after I installed the two-step colder Densos plus the 180-degree stat. Now, I think, I'm good.

My bone-stock CRD1 seems to ping on 91 octane as it is! Maybe due to my little plug-gap experiment last Spring? (which, by the way, has not yielded what I was hoping for, although I did get 25 mpg on a drive that involved 1 hour of waiting at the US-Canada border, 45 minutes of detour through small towns in upper NY/Vermont, and much traffic due to construction on the Canadian side of the highway... all the while stuffed with 4 'winterpackage' tires/wheels...)

First chance I get, I'm dumping the stock plugs and trying some coppers (I'm at 30000 miles as of today).
