Does anyone have the part number for the bulbs that illuminate the window switches? I'd like to have one on hand before I take the panel apart. I'll post the number in the FAQ, too...

OK....I'm going to go out on a limb here.
But I believe the lamp is integrated into the switch assembly.

Mine's gone south too... my solution? I'm going to let the dealer worry about it... that's why I paid Ford the big Canadian pesos back in 2003.

Hey MM'ers, I think Barry's right on the lamps being part of the switch assembly

No disrespect whatsoever intended to you, /Steve, but there is NO WAY I'm being hugely inconvenienced by having to bring my only car to the dealer 40 minutes away, have them say: "leave it for the day, but we're out of loaners", get a friend to drive me 40 minutes home, then back again at 5 o'clock, only to have the dealer tell me they "didn't have the part in stock" and had to order it, then have to do this same circus act all over again next week...
...all for a $2 bulb I can replace myself in 15 minutes...

Driver's door, driver's window, the "up" arrow doesn't light...all the others are fine...

Hey Bob,
By the way you describe only one side of the rocker switch is out ,Guess that shoots Barry and my theory about the lamps being part of the assembly.:o

Not neccesarily Bradley....we still haven't got a reply yet regarding specific part numbers. Could be multiple bulbs oe LED's.
And RF, I have good standing with my dealership, and several times I was able to call and tell them the part failure, and they in turn checked or ordered the part before I came in.

Same as Barry... I just got in from paying a little visit to my dealer. I don't know if it was the lateness in the day but I couldn't find my usual advisor. Instead, got some not-quite-over-18-looking kid who insisted on going through the whole script... I never 'drop names' but I was just too tired to argue so I just said 'tell xxxxx (service department manager) that I'm here' and went over to the parts counter so I could order some lugnuts for my winter wheels. I caught him out of the corner of my eye going in the general direction of the manager's office, but when he next showed up in my field of vision, everything suddenly seemed to go my way.
Result: part verified, ready to order the moment I phone them to book my 50000 km maintenance, which is still 1500 km away and I don't know how long it'll take to use them up, what with the snow not having appeared yet and my f-cars still being plated.
I guess it also didn't hurt that each time a technician passed by the window separating the service counters and the service bays, they'd wave and come out to say hey.
And speaking of part: all they have listed is the switch module (4 rockers and the window master cutout). No idea what the price is, but it's not $2 I'm sure.
With my original GM dealer where I bought my WS6, I had such a good relationship with the service department that they'd order any warranty item I asked them to without prior investigation on their part, and in some cases let me install it in the parking lot if I was in a hurry and they were running late.
edit: I wish I had thought to note down the part number, but in any case it's one single unit with the 5 switches on it.

As my role model Onslow, from Keeping Up Appearances, likes to say: "Oh, NICE...!"
I'm not surprised it would be a module...that will probably cost $119.47...for a single f-ing bulb...
Thanks, /Steve...no, not sarcastically, really...thanks... :D

There is no bulb. There are two LEDs under each window and lock switch. Just use a flathead to gently pry off the button to see them.
I am surprised that an LED would burn out so quickly.
Look at the bottom of this page for pics of the switches.

That same switch plate (minus the backliting) in my Marquis was $86 to replace.
BTW: RF, check PM.

Just noticed this morning that mine is out, as well. Same one, too: drivers window up light. Has anybody tried prying the switch apart and replacing the LED yet? I've already got a nice little list of things for the dealer to fix next time I'm in. I'd rather just fix this one myself.
Mine was out for about a year, then came back on. It will now be working about 1/2 the time. It's not "burned out", just something loose. If I smack it (my usual fix for many things), it will work for awhile. It's the same up arrow for the driver's window. Those led's that are in there should last for many years. IMHO, it's not worth doing anything about it. To me it's really non-issue as the window still functions fine.

Call it what what you like, Pete, "percussion maintenence" works for me.

Same here... forceful tapping brings about a random combination of LEDs that work. Every day's a surprise. ;)
Nonetheless, I paid Ford good money (cost me a fortune in inkjet cartridges) for 1 full Marauder, with all functions fully functioning. A new window switch pod it is...

If that were the case I would have had to trade it in the day after I bought it. Ford quality at its best!

You know, when you take the initials of Ford Quality and put them together and pronounce the two letter "word" out loud, it sounds just like how I feel when stupid simple stuff like this breaks on my Marauder.
