I am closing "the" deal on a new 2004 Marauder the day after tomorrow with an L-M dealer here in Birmingham. It's Toreador Red with the Dark Charcoal interior and the only option it does not have is the heated seats (no big deal in this rather warm state). There were no new Marauders left in Alabama but the local dealer located me one in Pensacola, Florida. Sticker is $36,655 and after tax, title, rebates, incentives are deducted/applied, "out the door price" is $30,190. Perhaps still a bit too much for a year old car, but with them no longer being made plus the fact I've wanted one since I saw the very first TV ad, took the plunge regardless. From what I've read here, most owners are very pleased with the cars and imagine I'll feel the same. Look forward to spending many hours on this site.

With the rebates going on, you should be able to get the car around 26K. I bought mine 3 weeks ago no moonroof everything else $26,400 in MD plus 3k for my trade.

Welcome aboard! I wanted a DTR and ended up paying more than I would have for the Blk 04 at a local dealer. I have had three Blk cars in the past and didn't want to do that to myself again. At least the DTR still looks clean 1 hour after being washed. Enjoy your new toy.

I like that, teamrope.

Awsmvic, I went for the KVR 14" brake kit as my first "performance" mod. Welcome to the 'net. Lots of good stuff here.

Give her a month before you succumb to the siren song of the wonderful world of improving an already great car!

Steve, you will love it. Look for Donny Carlson in Birmingham. He can advise you regarding mods. We all get ours done in Marietta GA at Team Ford.

Enjoy your new car. I love mine.

Congrats on the new car. I adopted my car less than a month ago and the only way they'll get mine away from me is from my cold dead hands, and even then I still might find a way to take it with me. This is a great site and I read it and find out something new everyday! May the force be with you!!

Actually I am about 20 minutes south of downtown Birmingham (in Alabaster), about 1.5 miles east of Shelby County Airport/I-65 South. Let me know if you're ever down this way. I had a scare a few minutes ago as the dealer called to tell me the car they located for me in Pensacola was sold this morning. But they found another one 400 miles further south in the Tampa area. Should have it in my garage no later than Friday :-)

Curious which dealer, Vulcan or Champion?

I recommend you service it at Earnet McCarty Ford. I haven't had service experience with Vulcan, though thery weren't very interested in servicing my MM when I talked to their service manager. Service at Champion is great, as long as you don't bring them a Marauder.

Earnest McCarty is an SVT dealer, and should have the techs to be handle your Marauder. I bought several Fords from them, and their service departent is pretty good.

If you're into modding, or really want to get the best service for your Marauder, I recommend the place I go to - T*** F*** in Mariettea, GA.
Definitely, you want them to do all your warrantee work, unless it's impossible to drive your car over there. I had Champion do some minor warantee work (window master switch) but TF did everything else. In fact, I'm heading there Friday for Scott to replace a radiator hose under warrantee.

Charlie Saab over at Saab Tire does a good alignment on MM's, - he's done mine and some other owners, but I recommend Jeff Harris over at TF ultimately.

There's a new dynojet facility up in Trussville. Forget the name, but Blacksnake (who drives a Kenney Brown S Marauder) has been there.

Anyway, welcome aboard, hope to meet you soon.

I have known Earnest McCarty since I was about 9 years old (or for the past 46 years). Am glad you mentioned that as I have had service done there previously. I bought the Marauder from Champion-beat Vulcan by about $1300, actually. I never felt really comfortable dealing with Vulcan, but had bought a Town Car from Champion about 6 years ago.

I hope to meet you one of these days. We go to the local cruise-ins at Alabaster and Trussville during the spring through fall months and will definitely be taking the Marauder to the shows. I live about 1.5 miles east of the Shelby County Airport in a new subdivision called Stagecoach Trace. Drop by if you're ever out this way.

WELCOME!

We've put just over 8,000 miles on ours since we adopted it in April, and I think you've got alot to look forward to.

In addition to rehearsing your response to the "What kind of car is that" inquiry, you'll need to work on something for the "But I thought they only made those in Black" crowd.

You might drive to New England for some clam chowder now, or perhaps Seattle to get a cup of coffee. By the time you're back home you'll have piled up enough miles that your DTR will really start to run!

Happy Motoring,

Greg

I was over at Champion yesterday. On of the salesmen told me that he had delviered a silver MM on Wednesday -- also a dealer located car. My car is the most modified MM they've sold, I'm told.

We'll definitely get together, and I'm interested in the cruise-ins, especially since I live near Trussville.

If you're interested in what I've done to my car, check out the pics in my gallery, or click on my member name and look back on my threads.

We need to go over to Marietta so you can meet Todd and check out TF, maybe meet some of the other Southern Marauders. Also, Marty is likely coming in next weekend or the week after to run Legal Knevil at Dallas, which would be interesting for you, my guess.

Thanks for all the information; please keep me posted as to all the "happenings". The Silver Marauder that Champion delivered had to be MINE! It's neatly tucked in the garage until all this darn rain ends. Now they're saying it's supposed to rain THRU Tuesday! Just my luck, but I refuse to get it wet this soon.

The weather will improve, and you'll have ample opportunity to enjoy your new car soon. The Southern Marauder monthly breakfast is tomorrow (Saturday, 11-20), though I won't be attending (work). The Toddmeister is also out with the flu, though if you decide to go, you will meet several other members and see some interesting cars.

I'll be going over next Friday to have Scott Levine install a radiator hose (under warrantee), and as I mentioned, it's very likely Marty will be in town that weekend to run his car at the Dallas track.

Your salesman mentioned you were interested in some mods, but didn't want to void your warrantee. That's one of the advantages to getting your mods done (and warrantee work) at Team, because they are a performance dealer and mod friendly. I've had very good service there, especially with warrantee claims that would have been a hassle anywhere else.

The best thing is to enjoy your car stock for a period of time and for a certain amount of miles, and drive other modified Marauders to decide if you want to make any mods to your car, and which.

Todd Fisher's car has an ultimate suspension mod list, something I aspire to make my car exactly like. Others have mods you may be interested in, especially if you drive one of the trilogy s/c cars. Most owners are happy to let you drive their cars, especially Todd.
