I've seen this car, the pics do not do it justice. On my monitor, the pics are a tad light, but she runs like it was 1970 again. Lot's of giddy-up go.
Niiiiiiiice, Steve, very niiiiiiiiice.

Nice ride.
A 68-72 era 442 convertible has been on the top (5) of my wish list for quite some time.
Rare color for a 442 - most Azures' I've ever seen were of the regular Cultai variety

I've only seen 2 other 442's that were Azure blue, both W-30s. I'm torn with this as It is a rare original color aqnd yes it has hood and side stripes - they are white, blend in almost all the time. I think the car would look awesome with darker blue (Astro or Twilght from that year) and white stipes. Though in documentation it says the car could have come with white interior (as is) Azure base and blue or black stripes. I think black would be too much but dark blue stripes may set it off more. In the end I think when it comes time for a repaint I'll be sticking to Azure Blue.

Thanks guys for all the compliments. It has a 455 with 3.42s. It is the W-30 package of which only 267 convertibles were made that year. Its loaded, cruise control, A/C, PS, PW, PDL, PB, Tilt wheel, 8-track, dual gate, Shoulder belts for the front seats, electric seat back releases and rarest of all the W-27 rear end. For the non Olds guys they made many with a differential cover out of aluminum but only a 100 or so rear ends where the whole center section is aluminum, that's what mine is.
