View Full Version : Marauder hood with air scoop

I saw some custom Marauder hoods with an air scoop on eBay, (though they are no longer there.... did someone here buy them up??).
Has anyone else seen these? The scoop is shaped like a U with the top of the U facing the front of the car. I thought it looked cool but having such would certainly sabotage the "sleeper mode" of our MMs.
Question: I'm not Supercharged yet, though I've ordered and am "waiting for parts from suppliers", (come on Jerry... kick somebody in the butt!) :) but I'm wondering if this type hood would benefit our supercharged 4.6L engines. Could there be a possible benefit for forcing more air to the blower in our specific instance, or is this a non-issue for our MMs? I'm thinking probably a non-issue since I didn't see a hood scoop version of the MM hood on Marty's or BillyGman's bad-azz rides in their videos.
Just curious..

Hey:
There was another thread about this recently. Here is the website for the guys who did and sold the MM scoop on Ebay. http://www.gatorcustoms.net/index.html
They are a member here as well. I tried finding an image on their website, couldn't find any. Maybe there are some on here.
Good luck.
Ohh, and the scoop is purely optical, not enhancement in air flow or ram-air intended.

Just be aware that the Gator Customs one is veeery expensive.
Great work...just spendy.
And ever since I've started to see "Soccor-Moms" driving around with hood-scoops on their Subaru wagons...the idea of hood-scoops (ESPECIALLY non-functional ones!) has kinda soured on me....IMHO.

Kinda feel the same way about spoilers (ESPECIALLY non-functional ones!)... IMHO.

This was part of a thread that I posted early this year. A place here in the Motor City makes these. They are pricey too, about $2000 to get done. He does it all in steel.

Please don't do this though. Pleas don't put stick-on scoops on your car.

That's it! That's the one I saw and couldn't find again. $2k is really steep though for not adding any performance gain... but it does look good IMO.
