I had this problem. T*** F*** submitted a warrantee claim to replace the steering wheel, but Ford wouldn't replace the wheel, instructing them to repair the wheel instead. Patrick, the trim tech fixed it and it's been fine since.

Common problem, I got mine replaced under warranty.Same problem here too. Brian, what did they replace?? Hmm, add this to the light in the driver's door switch and the axle bearings, may HAVE to make an appt. with the dealer. Less than 5K miles till the warranty runs out.

My 04 wheels looks fine...
Its not perforated, but its fine...
I have the same problem, both sides. It's on my list of warranty items. I plan on bringing it to the dealer in about a month.
Mine had the same problem too. I just used some super glue, spread it out lightly on the back part of the wheel and tucked the leather back in. Haven't had a problem with it since. :)

If you car hasn't been to the dealer before you passed 36,000, they can still do it for you.
If you've been there and they recorded a mileage greater than 36,000 then it is tough to do.
The easiest way to get over this is to tell them,
" This didn't just happen yesterday. Something like this happens over time,
and I didn't notice it until it became obvious."
Most of the time it works for me.
