Hi everyone,:burnout: I'm a bran newbee here and I think I'll be spending allot of time on this sight. In about two days I'll be flying to T.X. to pick up my new M.M. fully loaded. I would like some advise.....is there any type of break in proceedure I need to follow??? It's bran spanken and I have to drive it 1300 miles back to vegas. Once I make it home I'm going to change the oil, which brings anouther Q. Ford mercury gave me a motorcraft synthetic blend 5w-20 motor oil to run in the M.M. is this the best to use?? Anyway my last fun car was a 1970 special edition cuda twin 4 barrell carbs 383 magnum, but that was some time ago. I haven't even seen the M.M. in person yet but but it sounded like a impressive package and the pictures looked gooood so I bought 1. Ok thanks for the help:help: got ta go.....

Treat it nice on the way home, then beat the ever living piss out of it.
Change the oil at 1000 miles, then beat it even harder.
Buy a blower at 3000 miles, lose girlfriend of wife, grin gets bigger.
Spend all your money on it, move back into your Mother's basement, die happy.

Welcome to our home---we are just one big family, so come on in. Hope everything goes well with your delivery--when I was driving mine home---about a 200 mile trip, I variued my drive train speed by running it locked into 2nd gear at about 3000 rpm for short spurts---by the time I got home, 80 mph felt good---just no WOT for a while. If any oof us texans can help you--pm us with info, Maury

Yep, agree with Zack, but I still stomped on it occasionally after the first 100 miles. I want from no mods to almost all mods all at once. Though they aren't installed yet.

Another Vegas owner..cool. There's getting to be quite a few of us. We are going to see if we can put together another lunch/play date in between holidays, but definately soon after the new year. I added you to my buddy list, and looking forward to meeting in the future...Jim

I picked mine up earlier this year in January. Drove about 800 miles to pick it up. When I got it, it had 240 miles on it, all of it unfortunately I'm sure by people test driving and running the $h1t out of it. I decided that I would run it home easy. I kept it under 3000rpm all the way home, and was still impressed at how easy it was to get to 100mph at light enough throttle to not downshift. Dayum, I didn't know what I was missing! Got it home and changed the oil at 1200 miles, and then started having fun with it. You shoulda seen my face the first time I ran it all the way to redline at WOT in 1st!

You'll have a BORING ride on the way home, except for the car of course. An XM Roady2 would be a GREAT investment for the ride home.

Have a great trip!!

Drive it anyway you want!!! ....... But,only press it after it's fully warm.... And these cars love to toy with Ricers durning break in. But stay away from dual carbed Cudas.
Welcome & Enjoy the new ride.
