View Full Version : SuperCharger Raffle

MM03MOK

Interested? Read on.......

While it's very easy to say "yes!!" in this poll, we really want to gauge how many people are willing to step up and actually buy a ticket, or two or three!!

Many details to come and its success depends on your honest input. To be determined: minimum and maximum ticket count; start and end dates; final ticket price (for the sake of the poll, let's say $100.)

All ticket holders will be considered "Contributing Members" at MM.Net.

Shipping and Installation will be at the winner's expense.

Now, before anyone asks, winners will have a choice in superchargers.

PLEASE: no discussions/comments/remarks etc. on the types of S/Cs. (Been there, done that!!) Such comments will be deleted. Let's keep this clean to give us the feedback we need to make this a success for MM.Net and one lucky winner!!

For the record, I don't think we'd be considering more than approximately 100-150 tickets @ about $100/ea. That covers the cost of the S/C and raises a few grand to help with upgrading the server early in the new year.

100:1 or 150:1 odds are pretty damn good in my book.

$100 x 100 tickets = $10,000.00

$100 x 150 tickets = $15,000.00

Assuming the SC is bought at normal retail that leaves some good dough for site maintenance/upgrades.

I hope you can purchase the superchargers at the good-buddy discount for a little extra goody after pay-out.

I would do this.

With 60 "yes" answers to the poll isn't it time to make this raffle a reality. Heck after 60 (@100 a piece), the balance of the tickets are profit.

PS. Is their a plan for the balance over and above the cost of the S/C if
more than 60 sold? Perhaps general beer fund for next MM get together.

I would buy one as a "contribuing" member, even though I do not have a MM, yet. That would be the final nail in the coffin to buy one. When I win, that would be more motivation to get one bought so that could be installed!!!

I would even consider 2 tickets at that price, if we weren't limited to 1 only (although that wouldn't be a bad idea - 1 per person). I could get that under the wife's radar.

I voted against, (I don't have the money right now if it were a 50% gamble much less 1 out of 100) so I hope this is not taken the wrong way. Does someone here have a gambling license so this is legal?

I just don't want anyone getting in trouble over this.

Really.

I had no idea a license was needed one year when I wanted to do a raffle for a school fundraiser. Got to look really young and naive in front of the board, too. It worked out OK, but it's a lesson I kept with me.

A valid question. If the raffle is for an organization based in Texas (and we are)- There are no issues if the money collected go to a not for profit organization. Fire department here does rifles a few times a year.

It was noted that this should be for MM owners only. While I am not an owner yet, I will be at some point in the future. I would like to get in on this raffle and would even be happy enough, if I won, to turn around and cash the winning ticket in on a Trilogy S/C. I have already made my mind up on that. No way I would use it on a S/C for another car or anything like that. And I would purchase from a site sponsor (Trilogy, Alternative Auto, etc).

Is that OK for the rules of the raffle?

It would all have to do with the price and the number of tickets being sold. Yes, I'm interested.

Hi Eric,
Sounds like you've scoped your project pretty well. Very cool!
The raffle?- Logan makes the rules here. In the sitcom that is mercurymarauder.net, we are just the wacky neighbors. He'll probably post rules when things are set up. It'll be fair and that's really all anyone can ask.

That is all I am asking for and don't doubt that it will be fair. It is because of Logan providing this great site and the excellent people that are on here, that I have narrowed my choice for my next vehicle down to 1: the MM!!! And I am already planning what to do with it once I get one.

Well said, Sir!- I now sincerely hope you win (if I don't:) ).

I don't know that limiting purchases to 1 to a person is required, the cost of each ticket will pretty much take care of that. Man, if I bought 10 tickets and then lost!! Holy crap, I'd half to kill myself.

Let me say this, if demand outstrips the supply, there's no reason a second raffle couldn't be run shortly after the first. Just stay tuned this weekend!! :)

Now Logan, I thought we already agreed that they would have to register by paying 50 bucks into the Legal Knevil Scholarship fund....They can make checks payable to my initials: C.A.S.H. :D

OK, I see the raffle is up and running. For those of us wanting to pay by snail mail, do we just send payment to the address listed on the Raffle page? And if so, is there anything that needs to be done on the page to register and confirm we are sending payment so we are assured of one of the 125 tickets?

Thanks again for doing this Logan. Especially on a holiday.

I am in. How do we pay?
