I bought my marauder second hand from a family member, best car I have ever owned. He somehow lost the window sticker. I have done a search and it said to go to the orginal dealer and they would get one. Well that didnt work, they say they have never done it before and that was the end of the conversation. Well I went around to the parts dept and asked the parts guy if he could order it if i gave him my VIN number. His responce was" I have worked in parts for 20 years and have never heard off that" and walked off. Is there anyone who can get a copy of the original sticker? I would gladly compensate someone for their time if I could get a copy of the sticker. One dealer told me it was called a Maroney sticker?

Such "forward thinking" customer service. I know there are some fine F/L/M employees on this site that could at least guide you in the right direction.

Hmmm. . .

One would think if the dealer new what the replacement sticker was called they would be familiar with or at least know where to start.
The http://www.mercuryvehicles.com/apps/contactus/default.asp site has a customer service 800-521-4140 number and are open on Saturdays if you have a few minutes to hold a phone to your ear. I have used them before and are very friendly if you want to give that a try.

MY EXPERIENCE based upon a 'lost' sticker at time of delivery from MY dealer was getting only a COPY of the OEM sticker. How the dealer got the COPY was not an issue at the time. However, it IS in the realm of the dealer to get it for you.

What is important to this experience is that the COPY will reflect ONLY the factory installed OEM equipment and NOT any 'dealer add ons' after delivery (if any), etc.

For the used car buyer, 'add ons' after delivery may not be covered by the OEM warranty.

BTW, there IS a time limit on recovering copies of the 'sticker'.

hey MM'ers,

I spoke to Dealer personel yesterday(where I used to work),I was informed that only the origional selling dealer can submit a request for Duplicate Maronie sticker. If the dealer looses this or it gets damaged (very common especially in the winter or on a demonstrator car where it is removed while in service)They can retrive a duplicate the same way as they would if they lost or damaged a certificate of origon. The Parts dept may have never heard of this because the General office personel usually the L+T clerck would be well versed at this.Anybody that needs help from the Dealer might try a coulple dozen donuts under each arm in conjuction with a personal visit.I commonly used this form of gratitude while sharing the service drive during the cold months to do demos + presentations. It worked like a charm, the doors started "opening like Magic" Literally .

Don't waste your time calling Mercury customer service (800-521-4140) on this issue. I called yesterday trying to obtain the name of the original selling dealer. The reply was "that is privileged information", "we can only furnish that information to the original purchaser/owner". My question is, why would the original owner need to know where they purchased the MM, wouldn’t they already know? Keep in mind that I did not want the purchasers name; I just wanted to know where the MM was sold. I can't believe that they make something so simple a goat rodeo! If anybody has any other ideas let us know.

Thanks

Also FYI:

I communicated with a gentleman who makes custom window stickers. Saw his product on Ebay. He gave me the following reply about his product:

The sticker on auction is generic, but we do custom window stickers! You supply the VIN, color, options and dealer information, and we will make a sticker to match your car. Window stickers cost $10 plus $4 priority shipping. You get 2 copies. We can laminate or frame your sticker for a small additional price. Check out the "Laminating and More" tab at our ebay store for details. If you are interested, you can email your information and pay by paypal to this email address, or send a money order to: Gary Kimball, 683 Arrow Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34746. Due to the large amount of requests we get, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. (If you need to have it before then, let us know, and we will try to work with you). Thanks for your interest! -Gary and Becky Kimball

Don't know if this helps. I still need my selling dealer information to make it accurate.

I have no connection with this person, just something I found that I thought may be of interest.

I agree with you 200% Paul. I don't even know why they bother to call it "customer service" because every time I've called there wasn't any service what so ever. The responce that I always get is "We can't get involved in that. This is between you and the dealer" I say close this so called "Customer Service" to end the :bs: and then they can lower the cost of the automobiles. just my :twocents:
