I have been informed by the Marauder Brand Team that they will take part in the Fun Ford Weekend series starting in March, 2003. L-M dealer displays and stuff. FFW has added a Mercury Marauder Class (old and new) to their All-Ford Car Show at every event. Also, if a little drag racing is more your style, the Street Ford Class is an all-run bracket class that runs on Saturday and Sunday (2 seperate races for the price of 1). This dial-in class is designed for any Ford powered vehicle with DOT tires, mufflers and no starting line electronics (delay boxes). Accufab Racing will have their Marauder powered Cougar in battle against the Mustangs (shooting for 200+ MPH). The FFW Series is sponsored by Divisions of Ford Corporate. For more info and schedules of events log on to www.funfordevents.com. And finally, we (Accufab, Logan and you all) will be planning a National Marauder Convention for September at the Dallas Motorplex in conjuction with the FFW event there. L-M has promised to provide a speaker (somone named Babcock maybe?). Last year at that event FFW had a National Bullitt Convention and I never saw so many green Mustangs in one place. At any rate, it's time for some Fun. The first event is in Orlando, FL March 1,2.

I'm 4 hours.
But it's just up the road.
Don't forget theres also a Fun Ford Weekend in Houston.Ok Baytown.
March or April?
Remember if they are tossing us in with the bracket guys,we all need to line up one behind the other so we don't take each other out during eleminations.
Maybe if we show up with enough cars we can have our own class!
I know it could be tough with the tight schedule at FFW but it would be cool.
I'll be at both TX events.

You may be interested to know that Cordova was the first drag strip in America ever built from scratch as a drag strip. Prior to that, all the tracks were airport runways or taxi ways. A lot of history there. Don Garlits once pointed to a tree on the property and told me his daughter was concieved under it. Cordova can be a very expensive track however, since it's very close to the gambling boats tied up along side the Mississippi River. For you bracket racers, the Cordova winner will walk away with the keys to a 2003 Mustang GT. Not a bad trophy.

You left out the FFW in Bradenton, FL. at the Desoto Raceway 7-9 March. That suppose to be the main event for the Spring Break Shootout, I'll be at that one. I go every year, It's about three and a half hours for me. I hope to see some Marauders there.

The event you are talking about in Bradenton is not a Fun Ford Weekend event and is not sponsored by FoMoCo. FFW moved the Spring Break Shootout to Orlando.

For those of you that want to "see how it runs" without entering into competition and still be in the car show on Saturday and/or Sunday, most FFW events have an open "test & tune" on Friday. You will need to check the FFW site (under the Events section) prior to an event just to double check.
