What happened to the Fuel Filter thread with the pictures? If I remember correctly there is a filter that is twice as big as the stock one and bracket available to be used on the MM and increases flow rate. Does anyone know the part numbers, where to get? It looks as if the previous thread was deleted.

It's here, somewhere, I've seen it. What I would like to know is why is this necessary?

You need it when you go to a super charger

It isnt necessary. In my opinion its smoke and mirrors. I am supercharged and have no fuel delivery problems, in fact, the way my car is set up I push that fuel delivery to the edge and have never had a problem with fuel flow with the Focus fuel pump setup. Save your money.

One is to improve filtering, and two, to straighten out two 45 degree "elbows" in the fuel line, which could lead to a lean condition under WOT. I have one, no seat of the pants data, just emotional security. One final suggestion...You need to debate the driection your taking with your MM first, this is not an upgrade needed by everyone, and it's not cheap. It is important to the hard drivers, 1/4 mile racers and S/C cars. I'm sure Dennis has more pics, the first up were his.

Mac, a serious question, did any of your dynos show under WOT that it was leaning out? Have you also upgraded the fuel pump, and do you think that a fuel pump upgrade alone would overcome this leaning out under WOT? All my dynos and tons of data logging under all conditions, everyday to 1/4 mile, to running 165 mph at MIS, show no leaning out that would be fatal to a blown car. Do you think the type of blower makes a difference on fuel demands? Those last few questions are not just for Mac, but anyone that can lend some experience or knowledge to the topic...

I put a 98 Navigator Fuel Filter on my Lightning since its twice as big over stock. Thinking of using it on the MM also. With the Lightning owners thats mostly into the mod scene well tell you that you should change the stock filter every 7000/10000 miles. So thats why most do it so they can get upwards to 15,000 miles before any blockage can occur. Both the stock and Navi has the same diamiter in and out flow tubing so it can't really flow more but it can filter more fuel. Pumps is only good if your going over 12 PSI on boost the stock system can pretty much handle any boost thats under 12PSI though since the MachI uses the same pump and really just a shorter delivery system and some MachI's have upwards of 15PSI in Vortech/and KB applications with the stock Fuel system in place. 15PSI on a KB is around 500+ RWHP give or take a few horses.

Yes, I'm asking in anticipation of S/Cing. I remember seeing a fuel filter that was twice the size as stock, had a bracket to go with it, had part numbers and could be found easily at a parts store. If it isn't even necessary then so be it, I thought I remembered that it had increased fuel flow for S/Cing. Too bad that thread got nixxed, it had some nice pics on it.

There is also an aftermarket filter available from DR.

FWIW, the part numbers for the larger filter, bracket, and clips are in the FAQ...along with a "how to" article on the conversion.

What Mac said. The original thread was pulled within a week or so due to disageement within the membership. In my opinion, do some go fast mods before you get into the grey area piece of mind mods.

THIS (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?p=144847#post14 4847) thread may be of some interest to you.

I have attached a thumbnail as well.
