I am thinking about ordering the Cobra Manifolds and exhaust from Dennis.

Could someone who has installed these themselves tell me how long it took them and how easy or difficult it was.

Thanks...

Hard to say, Paul, depends on wrench competency. I'd be suprized if it takes much longer than two hours.

It does not take more than a couple hours to put on the entire DR exhaust kit, including manifords. I watched the guy who did mine.

Directedby, It's a great set up and if you have a blower the HP is even greater. The headers have a litlle diffrent sound. I like the DR set up myself.

I'd check out the great Kooks special Dennis is running now. A bit more expensive, but definitely a bigger gain performance wise from a true header.

Just a thought:)

DB: I can show it to you. Dennis did mine while I was at sea in mid 2003. It's not a bad drive from SD, and I need to deliver some items to some friends in the LA area. I'll PM you with my contact info. -kjs-

Please advise me via PM of your intended meeting with DB. Would also like to see the exhaust system. Thanks.

It took me about five hours. The longest time was figuring out I had to take the three bolts out that hold the a/c compressor on in order to move it aside. The passenger side is the toughest. It just takes patience to get it in there. I did unbolt the metal wire loom from the back of the block closest to the starter motor and located it farther away from the pipe in an effort not to cook the wires. So far so good.

The drivers side was easy. I started with the EGR first just to be sure it would not be a problem. From there, the steering knuckle came off with some persuasion. I'm not sure it had to come off if you could move the steering wheel for extra clearance while tightening the manifold bolts.

I took the car to the muffler shop to have the larger pipe welded in between the collector and the flowmaster 50's. Sound of the car was definitely louder after the manifolds and X-pipe, even though I used the same flowmaster 50's.

Degree of difficulty? About 5 out of 10, considering I am a 60 year old lawyer. You can do it.

Me and a wrench friend of mine took about 4 hours working together.
