Saw a set of springs and sway bars for sale on E-bay. It said they were removed from a MM to do a balistic vehicle conversion. Anyone have any info on that type of project? Here's the link to the E-bay item. It looks like a set of rear springs, so i think it's off a Grand Marquis or a CV not a MM since no rear air bags.

Yes I agree. I Emailed the seller and asked him if he was sure they were from a Marauder because Marauders have rear air suspension and no rear springs. No ans yet.

Yeah, it's probably from a CrownVic or Grand Marquis. I read that the Police Interceptor models had harder and higher springs. The ballistic project is probably for a personal protection/Secret Service type car. The armor they add can in the hundreds of pounds. I saw a show on TV where an SUV weighed over 8000 pounds. The vehicles are slow and sluggish but they are heavily armored. I think Kenny Brown used to do special cars like that once. It was on one of the old Motor Week shows.

I think Secret Service had some all black Grand Marquis converted. Maybe they just thought since it was a black Mercury it was a MM. I just wanted to see if anyone was aware of a MM getting the bullit resistant treatment.

The seller emailed and said the suspension pieces are from a CV.
