Does anybody have these, or heard of someone trying to fit them?

http://www.msprotege.com/members/Wesman%20II/`1/svt_00_cobra_r_ci3_l.jpg

They are from the 2000 Cobra R:
Size Selected: 18x9.5
Price: $230 each
Estimated Availability: In Stock
Recommended Tire Size: 265/40-18
Wheel Offset (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm): +20mm
Weight: 28.5 lbs.

I plugged them into here: http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
and it says I would need 11mm more clearance to the inside and 49mm (2inches!) clearance to the outside.

Also I am guessing a big brake kit may be an issue.

Anybody know what our stock wheels weigh?

There is a picture of a Reinhart car in the gallery with them on it.

Actually, Dennis has the 17X9 chormed version (1995 Cobra R).

Yes I just talked to him. Looks like the offset on the 18 X 9.5 would be a problem. Maybe I will borrow one the next track day and do a test fitting.

Found them in the Fordracing catalog, $250 each. They are quoting a weight of 33lbs.

That's my car, the DR S/C #1. This was before the stripe kit, in the summer of 2003. It was at Gainesville FL. Dennis ran 12.35, then the MM record. He wanted to use the slicks off his Mustang for drag race testing. So he just went ahead and put all four wheels on for uniformity. Many more upgrades to the car since then. You can see more details on the Reinhart Automotive website.
Thanks Big Slim! -kjs-

My Mickey Thompsons are mounted on wheels with a 5 5/8th backspacing, and they stick out a bit. These would come close to hitting the back of the wheel well no?

Thanks, reminds me of the old Shelby Mustangs and Shelby Cobras that I liked as a schoolboy. -kjs-

wesman, the OEM Marauder Rims are 18 x 8" with a +50mm offset (6-1/2" backspacing). An 18 x 9-1/2" rim would need to have +88mm offset (8" backspacing) to keep the wheel from sticking out beyond the fender lip.
