Maybe you need a different engine..., like a Merlin V12.

And yet, I found the gas mileage on my Merlin powered car was a little on the low side.....

Mad:

Yeah, but is that a direct bolt-up in the MM?

This is a roadgoing, fully registered vehicle. I had heard of such Australian monsters, but the biggest engined one I had seen before was a WWI Liberty engine powered vehicle.

Mileage? We don' need no stinkin' mileage... :)

Well, you guys who live near large lakes remember the old Thunder Boats (HydroPlanes) with the 30'+ roostertails? Before they all went to Jet turbines? Well, Guess what they ran.. :) ANd there was a Monster Truck (Ala Big Foot) that ran one in the early days. I think it was called Demolisher. Not sure on that one

Look at the frame they built to hold that thing!
I'm just taking a wild guess here, but didn't a stock Merlin make something like 1500hp? I think the modern air racers are making around 3000! at less than 5000rpm!
Torque I have no idea,2000-3000lbft?
What kind of gear box do you use with that thing?
Forget you wimpy 4.10's,this things got 1.10!

Drive up the block with that car and you better hope there's a gas station with nitro on the corner!

No nitro LML,should run on 100ll just fine. But "milage" would be a relitive term.

The shop that built the car needs to put up a sound file.

Actually, you don't have to guess, well a little bit, but...
(T) = HP x 5252/RPM

So, assuming that the redline of this Merlin is the same as the wartime Merlins, and using there claim of 3000HP, we get; 3000 x (5252/3000) = 5,252 Lb-Ft of torque. HELLO!!!

Remember this motor was also in the P-51 Mustang.

Now, Supercharge it.

And a 1000 hp hit of nitrous.

We had a two stage supercharger on the later model P-51's, so there's something out there to add to the basic engine.

If your going to run :bows: "the Sable" :bows: you need a phart can... Now on this beast a chromed 55 gallon drum ought to do it... leave the bung a bit loose and it could act as your blow off valve... ;)
