well,.. last weekend I spent some quality time under the hood of my MM. There was a lot of yellow plastic lettering looking at me.

It's not yellow anymore! I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before.

Thanks BigDog,

oh yeah,.. for the throttle cable cover and dipstick; I used Krylon Fusion (for plastics) it has worked very well so far!

and for painting the letters on the caps I used Testors Dark Ford Blue enamel model paint and a fine tipped paint brush.

and now I know why you call it "the other woman"!

It looks beautiful - nice work!

I don't call her that,... my wife does. :P She coined that phrase. Now ya know why,.. hehe,.. I've also been known to put the car on jack stands and pull the wheels so I can polish the fender wells. :o

Just so y'all know,.. this isn't exactly a fast mod. the oil cap took about 40 minutes to paint. The power steering cover will take longer... those are not raised letters. they are stenciled or painted on.

The windshield washer cap was easy, those are raised letters.

Concerning paint color: There are several shades of Ford Blue. Keep that in mind when trying to color match. I've been lucky!

That's really a nice job, and it looks great.

I ordered a set of the coil covers from Ray, and am trying to decide what to do about the valve covers. I'm thinking a VERY dark burgandy. (perhaps a little darker shade than GordonB's DTR):dunno:

Whatever, it's gotta look good with Silver Birch.

The shade of blue I see at this end is very bright, but I believe it's just my monitor and video card. Very nice attention to detail, Tom, very niiiice.

Mike,.. that sounds pretty cool, the contrast would look great.

BTW- have you thought about S-55 style tail light in Silver Birch? I think that would look great!

I've got a spare set of coil covers, I'm thinking chrome with Wes' coil cover plate in blue with a silver Gods Head.

You're right Sarge, the color is actually darker, but my camera won't quite pick up the color. Maury took a picture at a NTM meet that actually shows the color.

..and thanks for the nice words y'all!!

Tom: Nice job!

I do think you have too much time on your hands. Want to come to my office and do some clerical work?

I am skilled in MS Office, I know how to use the 'collate' function on copiers. and,.. can make a damn fine pot of coffee! :P

I charge $22.04/ hour for my time Marty.

I do not pick up dry cleaning, or run other personal errands.

Tom: Let me translate that ^^^ for you.

What it really says is, "That looks EXCELLENT Tom, if I send you my parts, can you paint them red to match my valve covers?
