So, I was on my way to a meeting....

Start over... I was dreaming that I was on my way to a meeting this morning, when for no apparent reason I shoved the throttle to the floor at 60 mph. The tranny grabbed 2nd, and my Maruader takes off up a long, straight hill... I think we all know the feeling.

Anyhow, as I kept dreaming, the tach and speedo climbed, and (after 8 months and about 8,000 miles of maraudin') I just today noticed this thing does 90 freakin' miles per hour in 2nd gear.

So I'm thinking maybe my license plate should read

90IN2ND

Whaddaya think?

Btw, it's not an idea I can claim as my own... I saw an older 5-speed SHO with 70IN2ND a year or so ago, and having done that many times in my own SHO's always thought that was cool. Granted, the MM is an auto, but 90 mph in 2nd with 3.55s? Wow.

These cars get better everyday... if you don't have one I second the motion to get off the fence!

i like the plate idea, though i wouldn't get it... just not my type of plate. i would want something more fun.

some year i will get a marauder, it just isn't my time yet. i just hope fmc brings is back someday soon. '06-'08 would be nice. :D

I must confess that the the speed reading was on the dyno but I bet it would get there even with wind resistance :D

A video shows my stock MM shifting 2-3 at 92 mph on 2 separate runs---checked it out the other day---92 right on the money, about 6,000 rpm :banana2: :burnout:

I have 4.10's manually shifting I can get ~ 47-50 in first , 80 in second, ~135 in third and i have no idea about fourth. Automatically at WOT it hits 45 on the nose at the 1-2.

I don't know about that - my old '92 CV GS w/single exhaust hit 110 on a regular basis (of course my driver's licence may have been in jeopardy as well as my life)! If you have the speed limiter removed from the program.....just be very careful out there!

First get some decent brakes, good wheels and tires, extra HD stabilizer bars, MMX driveshaft and one of these...

Maybe there's a stock set-up at a junkyard. Surely some kid, er... teenager, must've totalled one by now.
