I always wanted a push bumper, now I wish I had listened to my intuition. Central Texas is oversaturated with giant rodents called deer.
:mad2:
This is going to be one Mad-Max Marauder when I get done.

So, now for a serious push bar bumper discussion. I am looking for wrap around protection.

aww dude!.. that sucks!
I noticed the deer around here are rather puny,.. at least compared to the ones I've seen in OH & PA. I'm glad you didn't hit one of those!! Lots more damage.
Well,.. I'd imagine that CVPI push bumpers would bolt right up,.. hmmm maybe you'd have to cut a little of the bumper cover?

yeah, I've seen dogs bigger than those, I almost hit a moose one time up here, anyway little or big bummer for the deer and bummer for the MM, I hate to see a scratch. Did the antler go through the hood?

Wow....man that does suck.
However, it appears you were lucky afterall. We see A LOT of deer impacts here in Ohio. Most of the time, the deer is vaulted up and into, or over the vehicle causing extensive damage. The other most common is the spin around, where the deer is spun into the side or rear end of the car after the frontal impact causing further extensive side body damage.
I am not sure if a brush guard/push bar will help stave off damage in the event of a future occurence, but it sure will put a hurt on the deer.
Still, I am glad you suffered minimal damage without air bag deployment, and no injury to yourself nor loved ones.
BTW: Did you bring that sucker home for dinner? Big trunks come in handy.:P
Here's a pic....not sure I like it though...

I go to car crashes all the time after people hit those rodents. Being a car guy, I take every oportunity to "dispatch" the sucker with my 12 gauge.

Steven: I expected buzzards hovering over the deer carcass, but had no idea they'd be hovering over the MM carcass.
Al: was on the way to the club, more important than a 1/4 pound of jerkey and bloody subwoofers.
Steven: Something put a nice crease in the hood, not completely penetrated but probably not repairable. The hood is also not lined up straight anymore, no idea how far back the damage goes.
Cruz: See reply to Al's comment regarding eatable consolation prize. The only consolation was watching him try to run away without any legs.

I wouldn't put a push guard on my car for three reasons.
1) They're ugly as hell! :o
2) I don't anticipate any reason to need to push another car off the road. (that's what they're for) :P
3) They'd only further mutilate my meat (I'm going to eat the deer I hit!) and probably won't prevent much damage anyway.

If you are going to put on a push bumpper/grill gaurd on it, I'd suggest on the gorino brand. That the one my department uses.

Few weeks ago my wife croaked a 75# bambi, $2200 in damage to her 99 Contour. A larger deer would have totaled out the car. Defyant, you use a gauge to dispatch deer??? My G22 does just fine.

Bummer, but fortunately no one was injured, except your poor MM, but except for the hassle, of getting her fixed up, count your blessings. Collisions with the critters are an issue here in PA and many of us have been using those bumper mounted deer whistle thingeys. You can get 'em at Walleyworld, for a couple of dollars, and although many say they don't work, I say they do. You can see how mine are mounted in my gallery PX. I tell inquiring folks they're the O2 sensors for the SC.

As far as deer whistles go, my mother in law always had her deer before hunting season started. Since putting on the whistles she has'nt collected one. They are now on my wifes Contour and my MM.

They also can prevent an airbag from deploying and add a significant amount of weight to the front end. Expect some noticeable changes in your vehicle's handling.
As other's have stated, the deer usually flies up into/over the car. I doubt a push bumper would prevent this.
Deer whistles are cheaper, effective, and do not decrease the value of your Marauder.

Sorry for your "hit"
Their are about 7,000 deer related accidents in the US each year.
Glad you were not hurt.
