I was content with the underside of the hood on my MM - but I've been wanting to do something w/the bare underside of the trunk.

I've browsed pics on Ebay of 98+ CV's & GM's to see if any ever came with anything on the underside of the trunk lid - but it doesn't appear that they did from what I've seen.

My Town Car has SPOILED me.

You can crank up the JBL in there - get out - close the door(all windows closed) & barely hear the music - even standing alongside the trunk. This is not the case with the MM. I was thinking the underside trunk lid carpeting in the TC might help contribute to keeping the sound more muffled outside the car.

Least the MM is now worth CRANKING up the tunes - unlike the day you bring one home.

I went with (4) new Infinity 6802's & yanked the infamous foam out of the sub. Got the same type of speaker in the back of my Toronado(6x9 tho) as well. Gotta love those pivoting tweeters :up:. I'd like to go back in there one day tho - & use some XTC speaker baffles - that might help keep more sound IN the car - rather than out as well.

What you see above in the first couple of pics is the underhood liner. This is a special heat/moisture/stain resistant lining that is custom cut to fit/wrap around right over your OEM hoodliner. The logo is stiched with unbelievable quality as you can tell from the pic with the detail on the godhead. The design that will be made available to the membership will be a much larger godhead, centered above the MARAUDER. It will still utlize the factory holes BUT Car Motorsports can supply upgraded push clips which look MUCH nicer and are more secure than the OEMs. You can also see a pic of the cover you get in the form of extra, heat resistant material that you may use while driving to protect the monogramed logo. It's just VELCRO'd on...you pull up to the cruise night, pop the hood...and unveil your MARAUDER logo!

The other 2 pics are of the custom trunklid liner that was made using a special "Weatherboard" which is VERY strong, yet light which is custom cut for maximum coverage of the Marauder trunk lid without any interferance to the opening/closing of the trunk. This is then wrapped in the same special material as the hoodliner. The whole unit is stategically held in place by some AMAZING, industrial-strength VELCRO.....so there are NO HOLES to drill.

I'll have more info soon and pics of the other design.

So, what we had in mind was the God's head enlarged and the word "Marauder" underneath. This way Rich has the graphic elements anyway and it saves everyone the dough on having to get new artwork digitized. For my car Todd started with the digital images that he made way back when we did the dash, center console and floor mats and then we had that digitized for this phase (the hood and trunk liners) of the project.

By the way, Todd's car has gotten the leather door and dash treatment too. He had the airbag embroidered with the logo I am suggesting above and it looks sweet!

Just looked at that site, incredible and extensive line of products. You should see the stuff they can do...the liners are a small portion...custom floormats, spare-tire covers, car covers...and on and on and on.....ALL can be embroidered by, what I must say, is the most AMAZING quality of custom stitching that I've ever seen!

The fabric is impervious to heat, moisture and stretches. You can also see that the underhood will come with a "flap" of the material which is VELCRO'd to cover the logo and keep the threads/embroidery clean.

Me too! You have my attention. I'm sorry, but I've always thought it was BS that a $30K+ car comes with a bare metal underside to the trunk lid. Talk about cheaping out!

Hopefully this outfit will become a MM.net sponsor and we can check out some of their other stuff. I have my original MM floormats put away in favor of the Mercury all weather ones The Dealer has, but wouldn't mind seeing that they have both in that dept. and for the spare tire cover, etc.
