How much more performance are those of you getting with a supercharger? Also, how does it affect your gas mileage and overall around town "foot OUT of the gas" driveability?

I am considering one, but I'm not sure I want to jump quite yet. I still use mine to drive to Denver.

With the Trilogy kit I have, gas mileage remained unchanged so long as my foot isn't on it. When you get on it hard a lot, gas mileage goes down a great deal. Its all a matter of self control.

The car runs pretty much as it did before the blower. I use mine as a daily driver without any drive-ability issues or quirks on a 80 mile a day round trip commute. 10K on the blower install and everything is fine.

The performance is amazing. I'm running 12.1 in the 1/4 with the standard kit plus some exhaust work. The roots blower (eaton m112) that comes with the trilogy kit provides tons of low end torque, so there is not need to wind up the motor just to feel the power. No need for big gears and a higher stall converter. Its a stump pulling feeling at only 2500 rpm...this makes for incredible street performance without any other mods required (though gears and exhaust do push things even higher performance wise). There are other SC kits out there that are very good as well. But none make the low end torque as well as the roots based trilogy kit.

With the great kit choices available providing great performance, going with an SC on the Marauder is a no brainer.

I am considering one, but I'm not sure I want to jump quite yet. I still use mine to drive to Denver. There are two S/C kits available right now, one from the centrifugal way of life, the other from the roots "positive displacement" side of the tracks. Either kit will add 125-150 HP to a stock Marauder 4.6L DOHC engine. Inasmuch as these high winding 281 CID engines naturally lack low end torque, supercharging seems a popular way to go. A few here have used NOS, and a few more are looking into it, but for the time being, either S/C kit will provide more power than you'll need just to scoot around town, or OTR, without severe MPG impact. Both are safe, reliable and well built kits from trustworthy vendors, and both are reasonably priced as well. It's personal preferrence, both vendors are more than willing to spend the time with you in making a choice.

I think Mac's explaination is so well articulated, it might be a good one to keep at the top. (Since other threads have turned ugly in the past.)

I have run into a couple of new MM people here in the Northwest, and some may ask the same questions. After I turn them on to this site of course. :D

Mileage sucks, only because I can't keep my foot out of it. Sounds too good & runs too good. Biggest mileage degredation is with the gears. My first car got the 4:10's and I lost several MPG. The S/C Trilogy with 4:30's is down another one to two MPG, hitting into the 16mpg range.

Driveability is better with the S/C car, since it does not have th 3000 stall.

Any type of S/C will wake the car up like you won't believe.

Both kits currently on the market...and another one coming soon...seem to be perfectly safe safety wise and amazing performance wise.
