Does anybody have trailer hitch mounted on MM?
Which model, who done this job, approximate cost and any car modification issues (I saw note that double exhaust suppose to be modified... kinda confused here)?
Thanks in advance!

Do a search for "trailer hitch" on Yahoo and you'll find a listing for Reese and Drawtite hitches. They list class I, II, & III hitches for 2004 Ford Crown Vics-----which should work fine on our cars. By the way I still have an old 1993 GM that I ordered with the optional towing package that was rated for 5000 lb trailers. I towed a 3500 lb boat and trailer lots of miles with that car and it worked fine. It didn't seem to hurt the car any----it currently has more than 190,000 miles on it and the engine and tranny have never been opened (other than tranny oil changes)!!

How heavy of a trailer/load are you planning on hauling?

Some post pics, cause this has been on my list as well.

I don't want to trailer anything, but do want one of those carriers to put wheels and such on for those trips to the track and meets.

I bought Ford CV/Merc GM Class II Reese hitch in local WalMart for $63. Will install it in Pep Boys.
I'm hauling 5x8 enclosed motorcycle trailer (1500 lb net + 450 lb bike) to local shop and back. Not a long trips, not a heavy load - my V6 Ford Contour done that well, I'm not worried about MM at all. :)

This is a class lll that came off my 98 GM. About $200 from U-Haul. If you want a class lll, keep going back in years on the Grand Marquis till it is listed. They fit from 91 on up to our MM's.

I had mine installed at U-haul for just over $200 w/o the wiring harness. I only wanted it for a bike rack. There was NO WAY I was going to put it on the roof!
It's not noticable unless you're looking for it.

I have funny update here, guys...
Yesterday stoped by in local bodyshop asking for labor/price quote for hitch mount. Mechanic says it should take 3 (three!!!) hours labor and will cost me around $250 (for 4 holes drilling and some wrenching, yeah...). :bs:
Why my bad english allows those people think I'm so stupid? :) When I pointed on "approximate mounting time for dummies" printed on hitch's carton (45 minutes) they looks confused but has no regrets. Ten minutes later PepBoys quoted me for $50...

IMO most hitches and I have installed several, mount to existing holes in the frame.
