I don't know if its because of the warmer weather down here that more people have bought a MM here than up north, or simply that Florida is so damn conjested and over populated :mad2: that we dominate! Whichever it is, it makes us No 1. :beer:
So lets celebrate! How about a Picnic, say February! :P Oh ya, its already set! Great, we'll celebrate then!! :beatnik:

Dave I counted 41, but I have to say we're not a dues paying group and its a open invite. All you have to do is log in that your a member. Hopefuly at our pic-nic we'll have over 20 Members show up.

As Dave eluded to, the hard part is keeping membership numbers up when you are actually asking for membership applications and dues. If we counted non-dues paying members we'd have well over 80!! We lost about 30 or so folks last year when we became "Official", but we managed to retain and add many members since then as well. But, it costs money to be "official" (we Incorporated the club and applied for Not For Profit status), runa website, and have things for gatherings like food, beverages, banners, and tents. Although losing members to move to a Dues paying club was hard, it was worth it.

Along with a hotel site close to the attractions, we additionally need members who may have contacts and/or resources for Orlando Drayway and Old Town to set up a Marauder cruise. These are just a couple of the many things we need to look at. It takes considerable time and effort to set up a large national event of this nature. The time of year also is important (family activities, weather travel considerations, school vacations etc) to get reasonable rates for everything as well as cooler weather for drag racing. If we (SSM) are going to do this, we really need to get started ASAP. As per the previous thread I posted, we had super interest from members throughout MM.net in the country. Central FL members, your local assistance is paramont and a SSM meet to discuss this should get scheduled. I am ready to assist any way possible as I have had some experience in setting up large events. Dave (MI2QK4U), advised it is a massive undertaking and large numbers are people are needed to pull this off. It will be a hard act to follow based on the success of MV III. Wish I could have attended. Many SSM members did go and your assistance is equally valuble.

SSM Special meet on Oct 29th sound like the perfect time/place for us to discuss this very important topic. I have family in management positions at local resorts and a few of our CFL members work for various othe local parks and/or resorts here in Orlando. I posted replys about this event and will make some phone calls to the CFL members to try to get as many of us to be there.
