Has anyone replaced their stock head unit with an aftermarket double din unit? If so, which unit did you use? I'm considering the swap, but pioneer, kenwood sites do not say what their dd units fit. Thanks in advance.

Crutchfield is a great source of info for what fits where. Keep in mind that most replacements will not function with the steering wheel controls, but there are work-arounds for that too.

Start by replacing the speakers and then see if you still feel that it is necessary to replace the head unit.

Personally I like the factory radio, but have you seen these from Pioneer? They are supposed to fit the Ford Radio opening.

Couple of thoughts... if you swap the head unit you will probably need a new cd changer and amp for the sub. It is possible to use the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio but it aint cheap.

I would suggest either swapping speakers or doing some other tweaks before swapping the head unit... and be careful many Pioneers don't include the ability to adjust the sub from the head unit.

I prefer Alpine

Thanks, I think crutchfield sells a type of adapter so you can still use the wheel remote. Definately going to change speakers, and sub, probably amp too. Just seeing whats out there.

I could be wrong but I thought the Marauder radio is din + 1/2 and not double-din.
