I paid $1.85/gal for 93 octane today.....Not bad for Maryland. Gas is significantly cheaper in Bluerauder/Charlie's neck of the woods. (Woodbridge, Virginia.)

Joe ... I don't recall seeing any WooHoo stations around here. This area does have the cheapest gas in the area; but I guess that I am ashamed that I rarely even look at the price. I think that I just paid $1.89 for Sunoco 93 yesterday. :dunno: I guess I am gonna have to start paying more attention.

Yeah...You're right. It must have been a WAWA station! ;)

Actually my favorite low $$ gas is the SHEETZ on PW County Pkwy just before you turn left at a light to continue North on the Pkwy.

Sheetz pretty much drives gas prices in the eastern part of PW County. I know the Sheetz station at the Parkway and Hillendale. However, normally I purchase at the Exxon or Mobil (recently converted to Sunoco) because of convenience of location rather than price. :D

I don't blame you for buying name brands....I'm not sure what kind of 'SHEET' they are selling as 93 octane! :D

Hey MMers,
Chicago has big range of $,Locally gas is $2.04/citgo.Drove to chicago for Bull/Spurs game this last week and saw BP@ $2.55.I used to work across the street from a plant that filled fuel delivery trucks, and I remember seeing almost every brand of gas company fill there.Made me more concerned that the station itself is popular and does proper maintenence on it's equiptment.

In my opinion if you have to look at gas prices you shouldn't be driving a V8.

I am not sure what I pay.

hear, hear :soapbox: harumph! harumph!

I don't normally check prices, I go for the place with the least cars in it.

My wife has to go to the cheapest one(she gets it from her dad). It makes me crazy when we go together to put gas in her car, 4 corner gas stations and 3 are almost empty we gotta go to the cheapest one with lines.

"Here I'll give you the 25 cents difference" (me)

"Whatever." (her)

I'll take convenience and cleanliness over price anyday..........

On the road, I try to buy the cheapest name brand. When I'm at home, I go to one of the last "independents" in the area. His price is usually 3 cents higher than the cheapest guy, but every year I get 4 calenders, free air, clean rest rooms, and the knowledge I am helping out the guy who led the fight a few years back to get the gasoline tax reduced in Connecticut. To me, it's well worth the 45 cents a tank for the free air alone.

Paul and other MM.net members,

If you want to do your country a favor, only buy gasoline from Hess, Gulf, or Citgo.
The gasoline they sell is not refined from Persion Crude Oil, and is generally cheaper than all of the other brands.
Any money you invest in Persian Crude, funds the wrong side of the situation in the Middle East.
We need to keep as much of our $$$ as possible invested in US Companies and US Product Suppliers.

Great comments,I'm just curious if a car gets between10-20 miles per gallon would'nt that be more reason to get a decent value on fuel than someone that gets 25-40+ miles per gallon? My last post had over fifty cents per gallon difference in fuel $.some differences are even the same brand.I figure If I paid over $.50/ Gal. more for the same fuel times twenty gallons Appx.times 52 weeks a year(at least)By the time my car is paid off I just might be able to afford a Tril...........What are you saving for?

JoeJoe,
They just opened a new WAWA about 2 weeks ago on the corner of Rt 4 and Rt 235 and gas prices have been low all around town. We have our own little gas war going on in the county. I filled up on base yesterday for $1.62 for 93 octane. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm paying $2.19 at the local Mobil. The price isn't what drives me. The fact that the Mobil is the closest gas station to my house, has the only ATM machine with decent parking, is right next to the Dunkin Donuts, and I buy my cigarettes and chips/soda in the mobil mart is what makes me buy gas there.

Best price I've seen lately for 93 octane is @1.99... 20 cents less per gallon would be about a $3 difference in a $40 fuel up. I'm willing to pay the 3 bucks for the convienince. Plus they're open 24 hours.
