Hi all.

Would a few of you do me the favor of measuring the distance from the top of the front tire to the bottom of the fender lip.
I have been noticing there is an awful lot of space there on mine. Also, looking at the pics on the mercury site I wonder if they used shorter springs for the photo's. Compared to the one on thier site, mine looks like it's way up in the air. With all the posts lately talking about missing or wrong stuff on Marauders, who knows? Mabye some got the wrong springs?

Thanks.

Oh, oops. Forgot to say what I've got.

I have just under 3.25" from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender opening.

Just seems a little much.

Well this isn't a Marauder, but Marauders use Police Interceptor front springs, and the overall tire dia should be similar.

what does yours run? 235/60/16 I think.

yep, right about the same.

Mabye I just need to adjust the ride height in the rear. On level ground, there is more space in the front than the back. The car sits just about level. Not much of a rake, I dunno, just looks wrong.

Looking,
Check your air suspension switch in your trunk (on the left side). It should be on all the time.

looking97233;
If you have a Marauder than you should have tire size of: 235/50ZR-18, not 235/60-16 for the fronts. Mine measures exactly 2-5/8 inchs.

235/50ZR-18, not 235/60-16 for the fronts.

He's referring to overall height of the two different wheel/tire sizes

There should be a rake. Sounds like either your airsupension is off, or not adjusted correctly

Air is deffinately on, as it bleeds off every night, in the morning it looks like the rear is sitting on the back tires. When started up it raises itself.

I'll ask the dealer first. See what they say.

looking: I don't think it should bleed off that far, or that rapidly. I had my air suspension turned off for a few weeks (don't ask), and when I turned it back on, the rear end didn't go up by more than an inch or so...if both sides go down evenly, then your springs are probably OK, but you might have a leak in one of the air lines...

Update:

Dealer said they checked the whole system, says it works right, no leaks.

Says it's supposed to leak down like it does.

The air pump should turn on whenever the rear end is not level, even if the car is off.

Looking.....the car should not leak down that far overnight.

Take it back and make them find the leak or take it to another dealership. I had a MKVIII that would leak down the front over night, It took a few times back but they finally found the leak and fixed it.

I have 1.5 in. between top of tire and the fender lip. I think it sits perfect!

Looking - I had a 2000 GM with air suspension and am now the owner of a 2003 MM 300B, neither of these ever leaked down. The suspension (height or car) always looked normal even if the car sat for weeks on end. As mentioned above get a second opinion. John :(

My air suspension system shorted out the second day on the road. The dealer needed a day to fix it.

I think the ride is alittle stiff on many occaisions

1.3/4 " between top of tire and fender lip
