after replacing the valve body, then completely rebuilding the trans, they finally figured out that the computer progamming was wrong. Supposedly some ford guy was at the shop and figured it out.
They finished up the trans then took it to the body shop to repair the body damage they did. I am supposed to be able to pick it up on tuesday.
Its been in the shop since Nov 11.
They made me an offer of exchanging my 03 MM for an 04 DTR MM. They want me to come up with $3600, and they will just change the Vin # on my Contract.
It sounds like a good deal because of the $10000 I already paid on my black 03 Mm, but what i dont like is that my payments are based on the $36000 contract. The 04 DTR is only $27. That would have to be lower payments than what I am paying now.
So on Thursday I told them I didnt want the car anymore. Just wanted them to buy me out. Still no response.
Maybe cause my MM was sick all the time, but I test drove an 04 GTO and good lord it was amazing. And my payments would only be about $300 a month versus the $508 for the MM.
I loved my MM, but dealing with all the dealer nonsense has gotten old.

I hear ya Monster.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
There is a S/C kit available for the new GTO's already too....
Never been much of a GM guy...but those are nice cars...just a bit small for me.
Good luck.

This is the main reason people buy foreign cars. Their dealer networks are much better than ours. Every company makes fine products. It is the dealer service that keeps people coming back.

Somebody here said it already, but the GTO looks like a fat Sunbird or Geo. I drove one.... and was happy to get back into my Cobra! 2004 Cobras can still be had. More HP + less cash = Happy You

Funny, but I've had the EXACT opposite experience. I've yet to walk into a Honda / Toyota / Lexus dealership, and feel valued. When trying to help my grand parents buy an Accord (yeah, yeah, I know), the Dealer said, and I quote "Well if you don't buy it at this price, someone else will" - that didn't go over so well :argue:
Every US-based Manufacturers dealership I've been to seemed much more receptive to me, and responsive to my questions, with only one exception (and it was a Ford dealer, too).
Granted, I've never had any experience with import dealer service centers, but if the seller can't make me feel comfortable with them, I'll never get to that point...

Had to trade my 04 GTO for my 04 MM with no regrets (disabled parents), but that GTO with 350 hp and a 6 speed was damn fast. The 05s will have 400 hp. I agree the looks are pretty generic but I wouldnt recommend running against one for pinks. :)

I already stripped out my MM,
Pretty sure NBC shooter is going to get my gears, they are still in the box, never even had time to open the box.
Not sure If I am going to take the denso out of the MM, I am certain that the thermostat will stay.....it was way to hard to install to take it out.
I have two leather jackets, will probably keep one of them.
what sucks is that I had just bought a 2004 brochure, so I have a couple 2003 and the 04.
Still havent figured out what to do with the SCT hand held.
The best part of all, is that when I had my MM for the weekend in between trans visits, My front tire went flat. There was no way I was going to buy a new tire for the dealer, so I am pretty sure that I am the only MM in the world running a $25 used tire.
I am so not looking forward to picking up my car, even though I dont plan on keeping the black 03 no matter what, I just dont want to pick it up and notice issues with the body work they did.
I am a pretty big guy.....and I have plenty of room in the GTO. I dont think I want to pay full price for the 05. they are giving almost $6000 in rebates on 04s.
I think the best part of the deal is that the dealer I will more than likely buy the GTO from is super, they offer free car washes 6 days a week, free rental car for any warranty visit, free oil changes for a year, and they have security 24 hrs so you can drop off and pick up car anytime of day.
I love MM, but dealer and Ferd have worn me down.
