Didn't know what I had

I have a front clip with motor for a Camaro I got from a friend about 15 years ago. I know what you are thinking what does this have to do with a Marauder; anyway I was going to put the motor in a 1978 Z28 I purchased to run at IRP on Tuesday nights. In the process of rebuilding the motor some thing looked out of place, like dome pistons, two bolt mains and a small crank. I ran the numbers to find out what this was; it turns out to be 1968 Z28 302/290hp (block, heads, intake ect). I think I will sale the motor to someone who is restoring 1968 Z28 and build up the 350 I have setting in the barn.

wow cool, wonder if someone is looking for that engine. Did it come with a full front clip or could the rest of the car be looking for that matching number engine somewhere?

I thought the 302's were 4 bolt mains..

Early 302's were 2 bolts, later ( 69 ) were 4.

wow cool, wonder if someone is looking for that engine. Did it come with a full front clip or could the rest of the car be looking for that matching number engine somewhere? The car was setting in his driveway and someone remove the hood, seats,and carb. and set the car on fire.
