It is a Marauder, but it looks cheap and cheesy.

Check out the rear bumper.

Is that something he did himself, altering a Police Interceptor?

Looks bad.

Yeah, that looks like he did it himself. I believe that car started out as a Classic Metal Works 2002 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. (I own one myself- er, the model, not the actual car). One of the close-up pics shows that the paint is applied somewhat thicker than it is on a CMW diecast model. Another interesting thing is that he calls it a 2002 Mercury Marauder. Interesting that the model came out a year before the cars did, huh? I think he slipped up because the model he used is a 2002 Crown Victoria.

Buy it now for $100.00!?

That is a very poor hacked up job, not that I couldn't do any better mind you, but I got to admit, pretty gutsy for the guy to sell it. Be interesting if anybody pays him the $100.00.

It's not THAT bad.
I'm sure it is hand made as he says.
I've never seen any die casts mercury's so the badges are hand made, the head lights look good, but he forgot to tint the rears.
I wonder why he photographed it through the case?
I'd have to hold it before I laid out that kind of cash.

Do you suppose he also has a silver version?

I have been offered this tool by a number of manufactures and have declind, I asked for tooling Mods to reproduce the Marauder "Exact" but was outed by only manufacture willing to make the Mods, $15000.00 minimum. If I did a 2500 run thats $6.00 per just for tooling upgrades and if the upgrade only come $15000.00, Ive had these quotes come in 100% higher! I still think I have a good lead for a 1/18th scale of high quality. I am also trying to keep the production down to 1200 pieces, with the above figure that would add $12.50 per unit and just dont think I can sell that many (2500) I'm also trying to hold the retail down to under $60.00 for a high quality model. I have also pledged 10 % of gross to Logan to help with the site. I am still working on this project and will let you all know if and when I get some good news. I have been very busy putting together a new 1/24th scale super low production NHRA line of product for my company and it has taken much of my time.

Bill, if it help any, I buy often from Franklin and Danbury. I'd pay with a smile for that quality in 1/24. Maybe LM could back you some? It would be a cheaper give-a-way than the jacket in '04 (which I expect to get cut)...IMHO.

Hey it only has 17" wheels. Our car has 18"

I don't make a habit of "knocking the other guy" in this business but this thing is plain "Junk" I am however wondering where he got the wheels? I can't really tell but they look like they are legit! This not something you would stumble across in a kit!
One of the reasons I have turned this kind of tool down is no matter how much you add to it, it's still "Junk" like starting with a MM with a V6!

You are right though, many people would dish out just over c note (that is 100 bucks right?) for Franklin mint quality, I have a bunch of this stuff myself. Problem is you have to start with quality tooling to end up with quality models!

It's tough to tell one of these manufactures in China what you doing don't cut it! to them it's a toy and they just don't get the collectible "thing"

New tools are big money and I could swing it if Ford came in to the deal. I have made this contact with the marketing company but so far "thin air" I'll keep workin on it though.
