I noticed Marauder57's build date (2-5-03) was close to mine (2-4-03) and was wondering what the earliest and lastest Blues were built. So far the earliest/latest I've noticed posted was poorjoe on 1-13-03 and GordonB on 5-22-03. Anybody have build dates before or after these dates?? I understand the first Blues began 10-15-02 with the start of the 300B's. If you don't know your build date, PM RoyLPita with your vin# and he'll be glad to look it up for you. Cheers :toast:

2/6/03 for mine Blue with light flint.

Anyone have an interest in a blue MM registry sort of thing, to track cars built with options, etc? Maybe without any personal info made public.

Ordered mine in April 2002 and waited for the blue color MMs to be built. Believed to be the first factory order for blue, the only MM sold through Military Sales worldwide, and the only MM sold outside of US and Canada. Purchased at Camp Foster, Okinawa Japan.

Built with the first blue MMs during the first week of the production, in January 03. Delivered to North Florida LM in Jacksonville FL in March 2003 as a Military Sales car, considered a "courtesy delivery" not an actual sale by the dealership.

Dennis Reinhart picked it up for me and started the R&D, then too many mods to remember. Became the DR S/C MM #1. Still in process, so in a way the build is not complete, since I continue to find more things to change. -kjs-

Looks like the replies cover from 5-30-02 (might want to confirm that one...was it 03?) through June 03 so far. Thanks!

Just so we are looking at the same thing, the drivers door sticker on mine only shows the Month/Year in the upper left (as text reads) of the sticker. To get the actual build day, RoyLPita checked it out on OASIS a while back. Your dealer might do the same if you ask.

There's many ways to get there but maybe this will help PM Link (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/private.php?do=newpm&userid=616). Basically go the Quick Links then Members List and look up the MM name you need. You could search to find a post by the member and PM the member from his profile. I'm sure there are many other ways and maybe some easier ones as well. Hope this helps some....

According to Oasis mine is the oldest Blue Marauder listed so far with a build date of 12/10/2002. So I have to go out and wish her a belated Happy Birthday. I guess I'll treat her to a new oil change.

I think a Marauder registry for all of our cars would be a good idea!

Ref the build date, look at any receipt for any work done by any Ford dealer and it is listed on there too. I have seen it on my receipts. Might save Roy's fingers a little work.

Ref the registry, I am not that up on computer based spreadsheet programs, but I think something that would offer a way to do totals of combinations of options. There can't be that many variations for MM's. I have ordered Marti reports from Kevin Marti on Fords from 67-73 and they list things like the car is one of "X" cars built. Sometimes they find a one of one combination too. We were going to junk a 68 Torino but the report said it had a competition suspension and was one of 135 built so we are going to fix it up..

Mine has the flint/charcoal interior, heated seats, and CD changer. Sticker also shows the trunk organizer,
but the PO apparently kept it, and I haven't gotten around to buying a new one.

On another note, so far amongst the ones reporting in, mine appears to be the youngest (6/16/03).
Did we ever find out what was the latest recorded production date for Dark Blue Pearl MMs?

Did we ever get an answer to this question? My Blue was built on 6/19/03, anybody know when St. Thomas stopped production of the '03 models to tool up for the '04's?

BTW: Light Flint, heated seats, full-size overhead console, 6 CD changer, trunk organizer, full-size spare, key-locking gas cap (real PITA!).

Hey Rex, how did you get a full sized spare? Anybody at MV V come up short? :jk:

2004 MM production ended on 25 June 2004. I suspect that somewhere in the same June 2003 timeframe was the changeover from '03 to '04. :dunno: If your full-sized spare was original equipment, it may have been left over from the 300A to 300B switch and they were getting rid of "extra" parts at the end of the '03 run. If that is so, then you may have one of the last Blues off the line. What's the last 6 of your VIN?

Any other Blue MMs out there with full-sized spares that were original equipment?

Last Blue was 6/24/03. A few '03s have the build date of 6/26/03, tho the last VIN of the 2003 run is 6/25/03.

Bluerauder,
FWIW the Changeover from 300A to 300B occurred in the MIDDLE of the '03 Build year to the best of my knowledge. Having said that, an Early '03 Blue had a good chance of getting a Full-Sized spare, but not a late '03 Blue like mine.

Charlie,

Last six numbers of my VIN are 710633.

Full size spare? MVV? Shoot, they were laying everywhere around the pits at Mason-Dixon, so I grabbed the first one I stumbled over, I figured nobody would miss it.;)

Actually, I've heard two theories about the full-size spare. The first one conforms to your thoughts, (i.e. it was a left over from the 300A to 300B switch and the assembly line decided to get rid of one of those "extra" parts at the end of the '03 run), and it makes sense, given my run date. The second theory offered up is that the original owner didn't want to buy the car with a donut spare, so the dealer swapped it out with a 300A sitting on the lot. Guess I'll never know as the old fella that had it before me has passed on.

I've also heard the the 300Bs had the shorter overhead consoles installed in them, any truth to that? I've got a long one in mine.

Since I have a 2003 300B with all the 300A equipment BUT with Traction Control and a small spare, I think I was in the transition from A to B. The build date is 11/14/02 if I remember correctly. I believe there were about 10-15 cars in this category. Right Marty???? Maury

My Blue MM has the long overhead console, too. I think that it was shortened up for '04 to allow for the moonroofs.

Mine was pretty early in the run at 10 Jan 03; but I got the donut spare. I still tend to lean toward the end of '03 run "get rid of the extra parts" explanation. Still waiting for those 300B owners with OEM full-sized spares to check in.

Born on Feb 14 2003... Long over head console, Flint interior, Heated seats and mini spare...Multi disk changer... I recall seeing a picture of a marauder on ebay that had a full size spare...only it was not Chromed, it was an Alloy in the same style.

Mine was built on 11.11.2002. I have the doughnut spare and traction control along with the left over 300A goody's. If what you say is true about 10-15 pre-decontented 300B's then we really have the rarest of all Maurauders!
