ANOTHER Jacket Thread?!?

Very sorry for starting yet another Jacket Thread, but simply cannot contain my excitement at the moment. We bought our new 2004 Marauder on November 18, one day shy of just one month ago. This afternoon, at approximately 3 PM CST, the Big Brown Truck stops right in front of our house and off jumps the driver with an omnious looking big, black box. I'm thinking "oh boy, ANOTHER box of fruit for Christmas", but lo and behold, when the driver handed me the box, I see "MARAUDER" on the box and my heart started racing (honest). I managed to curtail my excitement in order to prevent ripping the box open, and there before me was my beloved jacket in XL, which fit me perfectly.

It's already been a very Merry Christmas ;-) And the same to all of you.

i got my card a few days ago..i havent sent it back in yet because i want to get measured to make sure i get the correct size.

i really do need a new jacket my old one is gettin too big since ive lost 70 lbs since march.

Sent my card in 5 months ago and am still waiting. Got ANOTHER card 6 weeks ago, so sent that in as well. Whole program seems to be hit or miss.

Bought my '04 on 10/22, got the card on 12/13, priority-mailed the card on 12/17 so it wouldn't get lost in the Christmas mail rush, still waiting patiently and watching that brown truck go by every night!

You should get a post card a couple weeks after your purchase of an '03 or '04 MM. Your dealer must notifiy L-M Headquarters as the first step. Fill in the post card with your jacket size and it'll show up by UPS. Mine took 6 weeks -- others have waited much longer.

This is a wonderful site, and yes, I'm saving for a visit to Lidio's shop. :bows:

I purchased my '03 MM used in Early October, and have tried unsuccessfully with my dealer to get a jacket as well. Is there any other way, maybe working with a dealer with "better connections" to the jacket manufacturer?

Is there any help for us jacket-less?

Mike, welcome to the MM.Net :welcome:

You may be out of luck if you got your '03 MM used. I am pretty sure the jacket offer applied only to new car buys. In fact, there was some uncertainty earlier this year on whether the jacket would even be extended to the 2004 Marauders. Eventually, L-M decided to continue the offer; but not before a huge backlog had built up. :(

You may be able to pick one up on E-Bay. List price in the L-M brochure that came with my jacket was $299.95. The real deal comes with a leather label inside the back that says "Made Exclusively for Mercury Marauder Owners" and a garment bag with the God's Head emblem. :D
