View Full Version : NOT a snow car

I just bought a set of W50's on steel wheels and put them on the car. Last week they predicted snow so I took the car through a full wash on Saturday and parked it in the garage on Sunday.

As predicted we got a fairly big storm on Monday, wll, big for CT with a total of about 5 inches where I am.

Anyway, as I was going to get the snow blower and as the garage door lifted I saw the tail end of my car just sitting there all shiny and clean and waiting for me to take it out on the next day of nice weather.

I cannot describe the feeling that comes over you when you see your car and realize that it will not and does not have to be driven in such a wretched environment. It is sort of like the same feeling of waking up to see your new car the morning after buying it. I said sort of. It is a bit diffeent but still very pleasing.

I have never had the luxury of having a car that I don't HAVE to drive. It was and is a good feeling.

I hear ya...mine is so covered with blankets I cannot even see her any longer!

But if she's got her boots on....damn, give it a spin, she'll love the snow!:P

I wish I had the same luxury. :(

I feel guilty everyday I drive my car this time of year. Although the warm comfy confines of the Marauder would be missed if I got a secondary winter beater.

Unfortunately, I do have to take mine out in the bad weather. :( Never thought that I'd have use for the heated seats; but Monday the temps dipped to 11 degrees F and winds were 30-35 MPH plus with a wind chill in the minuses. Hey gang .... it was "Chestnuts roasting on the Leather Seat" all the way to work. Yeah, the heated mirrors are nice too.

I know what you mean. Tonight they predict 6-12 inches of snow and my MM will miss it all. My PT loves the white stuff.

Blankets? What kind of blankets are you using? Regular house ones or something other?

To drive in the snow or not to drive in the snow?

If you don't have then more power to you:)

If you do then by all means go for it...

Me I have a pick-up for a daily ride:)

My marauder just site under a blanket of snow...............

I have enough wax on it now that the snow will slide off:up:

Bring it on old man winter I am ready......................... ....................

it snowed in fort worth today... and i had to drive the MM since the beater wouldnt start. to make it even better I have had a flat on the front drivers side twice in the last 2 days...
changin a tire when it is snowin isnt any fun... luckily (if i have any luck left) i discovered the flats in the driveway and a parking lot and didnt get stuck on the side of the road.

Mine is hermetically sealed for the winter.

That's so cool.

Please tell me more, much more about this or provide a link. This is something that is right up my alley.

It's called a Car Capsule (http://www.carcapsule.com/) I love it. The car comes out as clean as it went in and it doesn't smell musty inside. Check it out.

Hack,

I'm with you. Must go into work tomorrow snow or no snow.

Not looking forward to it. I don't mind a couple inches as my commute is all freeway but 6-12, oh boy.

I must admit I think the MM handles pretty good for a race car. Anyways, my race car. Thankful for the traction control especially with the 4.10's and all.

I'll be enjoying those heated seats too.

I feel badly for you who don't have the luxury of a garage. Drive extra carefully and keep that wax thick.

Dan,

You're right, must be extra careful. Had 2 instances of white knuckling.
My commute yesterday in Michigan is 32 miles one way. Left for work at 6am, arrived at 8:20am. Usually takes 40 minutes tops.

I still love my car and it only snows like that in Michigan a couple times a year.
Glad I got new rears last year. Unfortunately, that was before I discovered Milan Dragway.

Next year, I will not buy new rears until November.

Glad your safe.

I tell ya'. If I HAD to drive my car during the winter I would look for a rental on bad snow days like what you just described.
