Through a set of fortunate circumstances it looks like I'm gonna have two extra rims and I want to have them widened to 9-1/2" and put some drag slicks on them. I plan to put them in the trunk and change them out at the strip so is anybody aware of a good 18" strip-only slick for this application? Mickey Thompson doesn't go as high as 18".

You won't find slicks in 18".

So do what Menace does...get Nittos and wear 'em bald!! There's your slicks!!!:D ;)

The other problem you face is control. When you race on a bias ply slick that follows radial tires in the front, you get all squishy and loose around the 1/8th mile. Not only is it dangerous, but it costs speed and time. The aforementioned advice is probably the way to go. Widen the wheels and get a set of Nitto or BFG drag radials, and get the real drag radials, not the street version. Zack uses 275/35/18, and I never saw a car this heavy hook so well. You won't be disappointed.

Actually its 295/35/18, and you wont be disappointed.
These tires also serve as a taller gear ratio at the track because they are 2" shorter than stock.

Look at Nitto 555R. They should work.
