Interior Paint???

I have seen that some of you have painted pillar pods for gauges with a Ford interior plastic paint. Where can I get a can of the Dark Charcoal and what is the part number?? :confused:

I hit my knee on the trim strip that holds the peddle and the TC switches and to my surprise the charcoal paint came off of a 1 inch strip!!! :mad2: It is black under the charcoal and looks like crap!!! :( I guess I could get the dealer to order a new strip but the hassel ain't worth it if I can paint it. :)

The color I used on my pillar pod was Midnight Black. It is a bit lighter than the Charcoal Black. The code on my can is M4JZ-19M547-1074, Midnight Black Interior Lacquer. This is also the color that was used on my gauge pod when the tranny temp gauge was added.

Well....

I got the color Petrograde suggested and when it came in the color name on the can was "Charcoal Black" and was way too black for the trim parts in my Light Flint interior!!! :mad:

Looking in the Gallery it appears that the dash and trim pieces are the same in Dark Charcoal and Light Flint interiors?? :confused: Researching with my dealer we found the color for the lighter shade I need but it is "unavailable from the vendor"....whatever that is supposed to mean?? :(

Sooooo......we ordered new trim pieces from a selection of about 50 on his computer and you won't believe it......PERFECT MATCH!! :banana: :beer:

Sometimes things work out well the first time.....but not often!! :bows:
