Hey, that's just two exits west of our camp at Snow Shoe! Clearfield's also the home of GRICE Gun Shop, one of PA's largest, and the GRICE old car museum.

I must warn you though, that section of I-80 (Milesburg to Kylertown) can be a real b$tch this time of year. They average 11 feet of snow, and it's a 13mi hill climb from Milesburg to Snow Shoe.;)

thank you for that information!

I drove thru there in June of '03, seemed like a real beautiful hike thru the mountains, but since we haven't barely seen snow up here I figured "how bad could it be!"

You've got to be kidding. I don't think I've ever been hungry enough to eat half of that!!! Now that's the king of all burgers. :bows:
If you can finish, is the meal for free? :D I remember a pancake house in Manhattan, that if you could eat their order of pancakes, that the meal was free. It was something like 8 large pancakes. I don't think anyone was ever able to do it.

I know what you mean... the Manhattan diner I always go to on 11th and 43rd serves a very small doze of pancakes... I remember seeing the weightress bring me my order and there were only 3 of them on the plate, I was like "what a rip off" ...

... but after the second one, I was contemplating where I'll be able to walk if I stuff the final one in me, LOL

I doubt I'll get to finish a tenth of this megaburger, lol... I'll bring the rest home and have enough left overs for a week, lol

--Russ ;)

PS. I'm not going for the burger as much for the bragging rights that I've done it (HE HE HE)

Here in the Motor City we have been known to kill off a cow at Capers steak house but that burger takes it to the next level.I cant make this trip but sometime in the spring maybe we can get together.

Hey Russ don't want to "snow" on your parade but, Mike is right on the money. This part of 80 is NO easy drive:mad: Watch yourself in this area.

the hill climb should be peanuts...

its sliding down on the way back that I'm worried about.

should I bring some chains?

The bottom, sliding down? That's Milesburg where they had the 50+ truck pileup/fire/fatalities that made national news last winter. Chains won't help. Just watch the weather, and if it's bad, postpone the outing. You're right about the drive, though, it's as nice as you'll find anywhere, and, as an added bonus, Snow Shoe hosts one of the nation's premier ATV trails, and is the East's best kept secret for motorcycle touring. We'll do one from my place this summer. Have an ATV? Bring it up, we'll do that also.:D

It won't help at all when a jack-knifed tractor-trailer comes your way :help:

Just be alert!

Hey Russ, I'll wait till we can go in the summer! Me & snow / ice don't mix well. I put up a good fight, but they always win.

well if the weather stays as what is predicted we might as well do that, I might be crazy but I'm not suicidal just yet!

I had a lot of fun tonight hanging out with friends, but driving around was killer, the rain was so strong that the puddles forming were literally making my car a handful, and I was driving granny style, 5mph below the speedlimit with both hands on the steering wheel.

I'm also going to the Speedycop meet this Thursday down in Brandywine, MD... that should be a horrible drive in the rain as well. But I guess we'll play it by ear.

If we do end up going, I'll post the results and pix so you guys have more fun when you go with the Ohio crew.

--Russ :D

PS. pix from today are on my site (nice ass shot too, mmmm mmm)
