Well, I was visiting my girlfriend tonight. I had to park up the street as other cars were parked in front of her house. I came out, it was dark. Approaching my car I noticed the drivers side mirror hanging from it's wiring harrness. I thought oh no, not again. (I had a woman hit that mirror with her car before, it was replaced) As I got closer I saw the scratch. Someone took a knife, as the scratch goes down to the metal and in some places even gouged the sheet metal. The scratch starts on the drivers quarter pannel, goes through both doors, over the fender, up on the hood where they must have been attempting some sort of art work as there are several "scribble" marks such as a child would make with a crayon, the scratch then continues to the other fender, they broke the passenger side mirror too, back to the scratch, both passenger side doors and to finnish off the passenger side quarter pannel. I guess maybe I should be thankful they forgot the roof.

The dammage to the car I can deal with, what I don't understand is why someone would want to do this. I feel as though I could teach he/them to respect others property. On second thought maybe it is better I didn't catch them. I might be in jail right now.

:(

Sorry to hear.

Thats what insurance is for though....use it.

Get her looking good again.

People do things for the wierdest and most stupid reasons.

Probably kids....unfortunately.

yep that is what the insurance is for.

However, The deductible is $100. and since both mirrors are hanging by thier wiring harrness, I don't want to drive it around as they will dent up the sides of the car. So I'll be taking tomorrow off from work to get it into the shop first thing, $350. in lost wages. Also, State Farm only covers something like $28/day for a rental car, so add in another $20-30/day for about a week. All in all this will end up costing me about $550-600. That would buy an SCT tuner, plugs and stat.

And not to mention any addiontial $ I may have to pay above what State Farm will cover to make sure everything is done right (i.e. painting the whole car to make it match as the roof is the only pannel not dammaged)

I am truly sickened that someone would do that to a car as beautiful as ours. Thankfully, I returned to my MM safe and sound although missing some rubber from the rears since my mom had it for a week :burnout: I agree with your final statement though, if i ever caught someone damaging my MM I honestly, 100%, do not know if I could control myself considering everything this car means to me and to all of us. I hope your MM is fixed quickly.

It is possible that it was mistaken for a cop car.

I have seen many police cars with scratches on them.

This crap is getting totally out of hand. It is not safe to park a nice car anywhere outside anymore.

Sorry for your loss.

That's exactly what I thought at first. And I have had people ask me if it is a police car. In that respect I guess colors other than black would be better off, but that's what most of us have.

All you can do at this point is engage in fond daydreams of finding the inbred mother humping scum that did this to your car and strangling them with the wires from your side mirrors, slowly. Remember to leave the bodies in the gutter though, as you don't want to be accused of leaving crap on the sidewalk.

Take it slow, and please accept my condolences!

Sorry to hear about the damage to your MM. You are probably right about catching them ... the little bastiges would probably claim some :bs: bad childhood experience as the root of all their problems. Vandals just want to make everyone as miserable as they are. Unfortunately, this behavior is another by-product of a politically correct system that spares the rod all too frequently.

I'm sorry to hear about your car.
As a police officer I've arrested punks for trashing another person's cars and then had mom or dad come in and give the kid a hug because of the trauma I put him through by arresting him. I'm sure your car is not the first one that this loser has damaged.

That's a drag. At least you can supervise your new paintjob! Did you file a report with the local PD? I know it's a long shot, however we have had occasions when we solved a crime due to some unusual circumstances. (lucky break, witness, the perp pisses off his buddy who rolls on him, etc.) If a suspect was charged, maybe the courts can order restitution.

:flamer: So sorry to hear about your ride. There is never a good reason for anyone not to respect another's property and especially a good looking car. We all know they will probably never be caught, so all you can do is be vigilant and keep the proverbial "eye out" and watch that magnificent beast!

OOoohhhh that makes me angry. Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. I am thinking carrot peeler and salt shaker time for the perp.

On the other hand, would be a good excuse to put on a bodacious nonstandard paint job.

20 % of the population really screws things up for the other decent folks in the 80% bracket. We rarely get to the vindication point with most of these bums.

But, some times...well, read on:

Two years ago a bunch of jackazzes decided to play "wack the mailbox with a baseball bat". Unfortunately, it was my mailbox they were wacking. (I'm certainly not comparing a mailbox to a MM, but, it's personal property just the same) Started on a Monday night and continued Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Ya think they would get a little tired of slammin' the same mailbox? Nope, they had to slam it off the post, something they were unable to do all week. Anyway, having brains the size of roosters, they decided to continue they're exercise on Friday night. What they didn't expect, though, was my 28 year old bodybuilder son and Army Ranger buddy (home for a visit) in his 2000 Corvette neatly parked in the shadows. About 9:15 the little turds returned, fresh diapers in their pants and dope money in their pockets. Bam!!! There goes the mailbox... and there goes my son in full pursuit. 5 seconds later he's on their tail. 10 seconds later they had to come to a stop sign. 15 seconds later the pimple-faced, masturbating daily, limp-dicked, potsmoking, MTV watching, parent disrespecting, ****ty student, unathletic losers were ****ting in their fresh diapers. The four of them had come face to face with two very angry, very big, very tough, faces of justice, and, well, you get my drift... one actually **** his pants, two cried like babies and the driver ran away into the night, not realizing, because he's a half-wit, that it was his car that my son had blocked. 2 months later I had the little 18 year old turds in court. FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW. None will be able to join the service, be a public servant or attend a state college because now they're just another bunch of pee-brain felons.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

Justice served.

Kids like that should rot and die. Ever touch a nice car of mine I'd know who it was. Quick. No offense taken.

A lot of these kids (and I mean anyone under the age of 25 now would act in such a retarded manner) are worthless and should be shipped to third world countries to make tennis shoes. Now that's what I call outsourcing:banana:

Make a dirty name for those of us young people who try to work hard and not get caught up in this kind of garbage. Unfortunately, this probably isn't the worst these individuals have done.

Man that's crazy! Hugging the kid?! My Dad (God rest his soul) always said, you end up in jail, call for a pizza because I won't come get you for being stupid. Cops have my respect. I only get shot at when I deploy for war, they risk it EVERYDAY. A few years ago in my neighborhood some dork mistook the house next to a cop for his house and spray painted crap like PIG, NAZI, and other such b.s. all over the side of the house and the fence. He felt sooo bad about it happening to his neighbor. They caught the hoodlums, tho.

I was dating this girl from work, didnt know that the loser she had for a room mate thought they had something going on. I saw him several times before but he never said a word to me, then one night while I was in her room.........ah helping her with her homework.......he must have come home and heard the deep thought that was going on in her room. When I came out my car had been slashed all over the hood, and along both sides. I went inside and kicked his door open, grabbed the person sleeping in his bed, luckily it wasnt him. I went looking for him, but didnt find him. I did find a cop around the corner and he cooled me down. That guy never did come back to her apartment. He moved and never spoke to her again. If he had been a real man he would have stepped up and taken his beating.....but as with most vandalizers and thugs, they are unwilling to realize that they are losers and have to resort to taking it out on physical property instead of taking the chance of being confronted and getting their arse handed to them.

that girl was incredible.....she was the little barbie doll that worked the cosmetics counter at the mall...........but after that everytime I tried to "study" with her, I thought about my car and wanted to kill that little idiot again. So it ended right after I bought a new car. What a shame....mmmm she studied like a champ.

I feel your pain, though not as extencive. 4 weeks ago some low life POS keyed my door and hood. $1225 in damage, and I've got a $250 deductable with Allstate.

On the up side, I don't have to worry about a rental and the hood already had a nasty rock chip.

Well, thanks for everybodys words.

No, not an ex, he is in Texas. She moved up here from there.

I dunno, I have parked on that street in front of her house at least fifty times before. never had a problem untill last night. The only thing I can come up with is maybe he/they thought it was an unmarked police car, and he/they had an axe to grind. The only other option (oh look there's a nice car, let's destroy it for fun) is just too depressing.

Anyway, looks like it will be a complete re-paint execept for the bumpers, which I will be chipping in $350 in addition to my $100 deductible to have done too. The back bumper has some scratches that a nice person left me in a parking lot awhile ago and the front has a rock chip or two. I asked about doing a custom color, the shop manager is going to call me when they are ready to paint, I will go down and talk to the painter. The painter will make up some color samples of what I said I would like. The sunset brings out a dark red hue in the black paint, I would like to have that a little more pronounced. Kind of like a half tone or watermark, still be basicly black in bright daylight but be able to see the red as the light fades. I dunno if this something they can do or not, I'll find out in a week or so.

Sounds like an interesting idea on the paint color. The good news from all this is that you'll end up with a much better paint job on your car than what you had from the factory. Sucks to have to go through this, but at least there is some silver lining.

Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.

Total bill for the re-paint $5100.00
my end was $550.00
