Got our snow shoes put on Mrs TR's car yesterday, and man are they ugly.
At night it does look like a cop car though.

Tomorow we will be driving down to Claifornia to my grand mother's memorial service. Hope we don't need them, but better safe than sorry.

'Round here, we call that the "Englewood Tact" look, popular among younger CPD officers buying retired CV/PIs as a go to work/court car. If ya lived in Chicago, Team, you'd have a free pass on everything traffic, and dudes lurking at the bus stop on check day would be grabbing some wall at the point of your finger. Whoops, sorry...news you didn't want to hear?
Ummm...Just don't wear a baseball cap behind the wheel?

Barry has a point snow in your part of the state? :P :P
I have an Aunt in Settle (near Sea-Tac) Snow is a big deal:):):)
But you are correct in the fact it's better to be safe then sorry:up:

First - my condolences.
In order to approve the appearance of the, "winter package", I had my steelies painted Silver Birch to match the car. They look MUCH better than black - was an inexpensive mod to have a paint shop shoot them and the center caps "finish it all off" nicely.
With TR-painted steelies and bright caps, someone might just mistake your car for a big block '63 Galaxie - only faster!

You just like the look don't you? We'll, we did have 6-10 inches last January, but for a couple of days I can afford to drive the big truck with the loooooong wheel base and the 1/2 dozen tires on the ground.
If we were not going over the Siskiyou's I wouldn't have bothered with them. As soon as we get back from California they're comming OFF! :puke:
On a brighter note, 16's have a lot more options for drag slicks.:)

Grand Ma made it to 92. We got to see her Thanksgiving, and her health was not the best. With the decline of her quality of life it was for the best. At least she's with Grand Pa now.

Sorry for your loss.
Re : the wheels
Talk about a totally different look ...
Sure does look like the profile of a LEO CV cept' for the spoiler & view of the LH Megs tip.

I'd like more info on that wheel tire combo too please - do you have a close up shot of them? The wheels I've seen on the cop cars around here don't agree with me, but the ones on that DTR MM you've got look better. Thanks!
Sorry about Grandma, but at the same time, I hope I make it past 90!

Man I like them. What size and brand are they?I bought the rims at Les Schwab for $190. The tires, I won't go there. Got stuck with what Discount could come up with. Hankook W404 Winter radial in 215/65/16 for the front and Michelin winterforce in 225/70/16 for the rear.
The speedometer reads about 53/54 MPH when you are driving at 50.
The tire rack (A supporting vendor of this site) has the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's for $394 before shipping and taxes. They are sold out of the steel wheels for the rest of the season. The sizes they recomend are 235/65QR16 for the back and 225/60QR16 for the front. From what I've herd, this size is a better match for speedo accuracy.
Thanks brother, and sorry for the loss of Grandma.

See Scott, I told ya they were ugly.
Just had to give you some static, buddy. :) They don't look bad at all, but they do make her look like a LEO cruiser, as others have said. :)
Hey, have a safe trip to Cali, and let me add my condolences on the passing of your grandmother. Didn't see that last line in your post before.

"Man, are they ugly"......oh, U mean those tires.......at first I thought that you were talking about some of the women that I've been meeting lately. :D I don't think that those wheels and tires look too bad. Ofcourse they're not as good looking as the stock wheels are, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Perhaps those wheels and tires do look a bit more natural on a black Marauder though. I have the same wheels for the winter too, however, the thing that I don't like about the snow tires themselves, is that after driving around on those great looking 12" wide P305/45 R18" Nitto drag radials all summer and fall, the snow tires being merely a P225 size look real skinny from behind.
And that narrow tire width is the only thing that looks ugly to me. But there again, I'm being told that a skinnier tire is better in the snow for traction purposes. And as good as the tires were in the first snow storm that we had here this year, and as good as they were in the four major snowstorms that I drove in last year with them on the Marauder, I'm inclined to believe that. So you just can't have it all I guess. Atleast not all the time. ;)

My condolences for your loss.
Try not to bottom out or else the tires will hit the fenders. I have a set like them on my CVPI. '03 and up CVPI rims would be better for your application.
BTW, how would they look on the Galaxie????
