Hi all,
I could use some prayers tonight, my mom just called and told me my dad passed away. I'm heading up to Virginia tomorrow morning, and I'm going to need as much help from the Big Guy as I can get.

Sorry Erric. It's your mom who's gonna need the support. Hopefully you have other family members who live close to her. Since pap died, Barb spends every Saturday with her mom.

My condolences. You and your family will be in my prayers. This is gonna be a tough time for your mom ... hope you both have a good family support network in Virginia. What part of Virginia are you headed to??

My prayers and condolances go out to you and your family. I know where you are right now and where you will be going. See I lost both of my parents in 2004. Dad passed away on June 18, and my Mother followed him on November 30. :alone: It's tough dude, I surely know the pain and heart ache. :depress: Stay strong, and I promiss you will make it through. Friends and family are so important at a time like this and I know you will get the support you need to get by this difficult time; I did. Again I am sorry for you loss, and will keep you and your family in my prayers. God bless. :)

Staunton. We flew up yesterday and what a nerve wracking experience it was too. First, we got flagged by security at Atlanta. My wife and kids were separated from me by TSA and THEY got searched, not me. After going through the security they were directed to a different terminal from me so it took me almost half an hour to find them. We made the flight fortunately.

So we get on the plane to Charlottesville. Get ALL the way to Charlottesville, but the airport is fogged in so in Delta's infinite wisdom they take us all back to Atlanta. When we get back to Atlanta they re-booked us to the 9:30 PM flight back. I jumped their stuff over that because of why we are going. Luckily they got us they last three seats on a 3:43 PM flight and another passenger was kind enough to give up his seat for our fourth.

We finally got into Staunton after 8:00 PM, when we should have been there by 11:00 AM. Meanwhile my mom is there with no other family members to help her deal with it. Luckily she does have a slew of friends to give her support.

To everyone!

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and prayers. While we are all separated by great physical distances our passion for a car brings us together to form friendships and bonds that transcend the vagaries of a simple hunk of metal.

So again my family and I thank you.

Staunton.
Eric,

Staunton .... pronounced STAN-TON. :D I-81, Exit 222. Got to know that road reasonably well when my son was in school in Lexington.

Glad your trip was safe and sound. Must have been an ordeal. I am surprised that security messed with a travelling family. My experience has usually been quite the opposite. When we were flying with 3 young ones, we would get waved right on through security and customs. It was probably that "bedraggled" look that can't be imitated or faked well.

Hope all goes well for the family and your Mom. Thinking of you and praying for the best.

The problem was 4 oneway tickets purchased late the night before. Still they patted down my wife, my 5 year old, and my 2 year old but I was sent through normal security. Go figure.

My folks settled here in Staunton about 12 years ago. They just bought a new house and were still in the process of unpacking. I've got to straighten out not only their affairs, but my father managed the affairs of several other family members. So I have my work cut out for me there.

EricBoy do I know what that is like. I not only took care of my parents affairs when they where alive, but now have the hard task of going through 54 years of stuff they collected. I am trying to clean out their house right now, and I'm finding all kinds of stuff. Stay strong, take care of mom, and like me; my wife was a real trooper for me during my difficult time, just like I'm sure your wife is right now. Keep your head up and my daliy prayers are with you. Good luck and God bless.
