Hey guys,

Went to the track Wed. and here's what I ran in the Impala. Still on the stock bottom LT1 block, ported stock iron heads and a Comp Cam. ALL MOTOR, no juice on this run. 100% street trim, drove in, ran, drove out. Didn't even adjust the air in the tires :)

By the way, the guy next to me was a modded late model Cobra

What year was that Cobra?

I'm not sure, except it was the one before the supercharged model.

It was kind of cool looking. The guy bought the Cobra R body kit. I thought he would wipe me out just from the looks of it!

All those extra body parts are probably what slowed him down LOL

I wonder if it was a '99? They aparently were not as fast as they were supposed to be

SSMOKEM

Well, he ran a 13.29 @ 104.44, faster than any I've seen without superchargers.

Damn George! All motor! That's sweet. Looks like that tire combo is working good huh?

Ok ok. So you were right, you can dominate a quarter mile.:D

Interesting what you can do with just a little head porting, a cam and I'm guessing some chip tuning

Hey Jeff, it wasn't the tire combo, although it helped. It was the new program and bigger injectors that finally did it.

RCSignals, I'm waiting for you guys to start messing around with your motors :)

Stock interiors with no rollbars? Rules up here are for any car quicker than 12 seconds has to have safety equipment, I don't have the rule book in front of me at the moment but am guessing that's why no NOS this run?

Way to go George !!! 12.78 all engine indeed is impressive !!! I noticed that most MM. owners on this forum are from cold weather states, mine is stock and will remain so in the foreseable future. It might take a little time to see what the mods on the MM. will produce; starting with just a chip up to Mensrea's full body massage. I look forward to spring and early summer by then we should start to see timeslips. To the best of my knowledge the MM. is at present about a 14.7's to 15.2 car. It will be interesting to see what the mods will bring....and yes your 12.78 will certainly be a lofty goal to shoot for.

hey Merc406,

They haven't said anything lately, but last year I got kicked out once. I've ran last month with the juice and they didn't say anything, so I guess they're fairly lax right now. I don't want to run with the juice in any case, since I just lost my work contract, so I'm currently unemployed. No use testing the limits of the stock block without a job!!

Hey Smokie,

My first ever bone stock run was 15.58 @ 89.65 with a 2.3 60' time, so the stock LT1 motors were weaker than the MM motor. I think your future ETs will depend on how far the 4.6 is already massaged from the factory. It's definitely a higher stressed motor than the LT1 was.

SSMOKEM I agree the 32v 4.6 alone is closer to the top of it's potential than the LT1, so without adding externals or changing bore and stroke it will be tough to get under 13. But I'm sure some will try!!! This is the first full year to play with the MM. it should be fun.:D

I don't know Smokie. DR seems to be wringing a lot more out of them, as well as some of the Mustang guys

RCSignals I really do hope so, I am really looking forward to the timeslips for modified MM's, but I am aware of none posted so far. Do you believe the MM. can go under 13 without a blower or laughing gas??? I don't have enough experience in that field to know for sure, but it would be great if it could be done.:coolman:

well look up DRs posts on the Lincoln engines he's been building.

RCSignals I went to the Dennis site to look at his project cars as you suggested and maybe I missed the cars you were refering to; but all the ones I saw were either blown or used NOS.-- my earlier remarks were about the possibility of an"only motor" sub. 13 MM. not blown, stroked or shot with funny gas. I may have done a poor job of looking or expressing myself. Anyway time will tell. :D

This is just my opinion, of course, but I doubt we're going to get as far without a blower as the LT1 does. I just don't think we have enough cubes. Room for improvement? Sure, but I'll be shocked to see any sub-13 second times without a blower.

SSmoke, congrats on your great run, that be one bad 350. I had a 350, 350hp in lwb 72 truck, that was way fun and hurt a lot of people's feelers, especially when you could throw a cat through the truck. Only thing is I noticed you said the mm was faster stock. This comes as a surprise to me, had a friend who had a 94 ss that would just smoke the tires off the thing. I was impressed to say the least tried to buy it, no mun. I guess the MM comes on strong at mid to top. Keep burning them, good luck on a job.
