Ok I have done my best and waited so I have to ask, will we have a Marauderville meet this year?
Due to my lack of orginization skills I have no plans of my own for this event besides going,(and helping stuff goodie bags if I'm needed),But I have a blank vacation schedule I need to fill out to ensure I get the time off.
I know about the Dream Cruise,I'm also thinking about doing the Hot Rod Power Tour, But $$ and time off only give me one. I just need Dates and places to Forcast my time off.

BURP...
What...?
Lance...IMHO, the most fun comes in the last seconds of planning. Hang on dude, when the man says go, we go.
I like that. It's like having Lee Marvin standing behind you at the back door of a C-130, and smacking you on the back yelling "Go!" in your ear. The Delta Force deploys, and lands on target. Chuck Morris will hug you when you land.
Works for me, your results may vary, eh?

Is Chuck Morris the more touchy feely feely cousin of Chuck Norris, the movie legend?

MVIII was the topic of discution, not a typo...
Lets get some Ideas rolling here.
And something to concider... Do we want to be alone, as in just Marauders, or part of something bigger, like a FFW or the dream cruise?

And when we do firm up MVIII, we need to let Barry Megiuar know (just don't tell him we use Zaino's). Logan and us members definitely qualify as car crazy.

To me, an even bigger question mark than where and when will MVIII be is "Will Logan, the mm.net button master, even own a Marauder this time around?"
C'mon man, time is getting short to get a car, install the headers and supercharger, widen the rear rims, change the gears, upgrade the tranny and torque converter, etc, etc...

Well, I for one work for an, oh well, never mind. My entire year of vacation must be submitted by 1/31/05. After that, it's on an availability issue. If there are to many people on vacation during the time frame you want it, sorry Charlie! Will try to make MVIII wherever it is, but the dates and the company vacation schedule will have to agree for me to get the time off.

mm.net will be sponsoring the MCM festivities, just to what extent is all that's to be determined.
I simply do not have the personal drive to take on an independant MVIII for a 3rd time, it's an enormous time commitment.
Dave and the rest of MCM has gone out of their way to turn the dream cruise into a spectacular Marauder event. So, if they want to call it Marauderville III, I'm flattered and sounds like a great plan to me.
I had planned to do something in the south, but I just am not going to have the time to do it properly, so I'll do everything I can to support MCM.
There, that's the official word. Carry on.

I was at the Michigan planning meeting and have an idea of what is on their mind.
The one thing I did not consider at the time, has definately become a concern now if MV-III is indeed planned in conjunction with the Woodward cruise.
If we (they/whomever) plans OUR Mv-III event the week prior, during, or after woodward, there is gonna be one hell of a lodging issue. We will have to compete with nearly 100,000 other car enthusiests for space. This alone could be the failure of OUR Mv-III.
My biggest concern is the availability of a host location for US. Otherwise we are spread out over the greater Detroit region. A host location is key to OUR comeraderie. Also, fees to participate in Woodward may exceed many of our members finances. I know that I won't be able to drop a c-note or better JUST for a parking spot.
The events planned by the Michigan group are really cool, and Woodward is just ONE of the things they have in mind. It just needs to be spelled out that MV-III is NOT planned around Woodward, but perhaps the week before or after. If planned the same week, I see no way that a large group of Marauder folks will be able to socialize as we did in the past, as a group, in one location, competing with 100,000 other car folks. It just won't happen.
To conclude, since Logan has basically passed the torch, and no other group aside from the Michigan crew has stepped up to the plate to plan this MV-III EVENT, we can only take advantage of their offer, and work with it. It's getting late in the game, plans need to be made, and duties assigned.
If this MV-III takes place in Michigan during Woodward, I'll show up. I won't pay to park, but I will pay to participate in the other events planned. And god help us stay at a common host location.
I also want to add that in the coming days, I will start a poll for dates in regards to EAM-III (Eastern Annual Meet). It will be the week before or after MEMORIAL DAY, just like last year. And just like last year, we have a similar itinerary, with a few new ideas added. If the weather is more forgiving this year, we'll make the track.
Therefore, as a few have suggested to me, if MV-III isn't going to fit into your plans/budget/timing this year, join us in Cleveland for a very private, mm.net members, cozy, member to member kind of event.;)

Well Barry, What would you suggest? You voted yes on the other thread, along with 83 other members that you would both attend and support MVIII at WDC. Now is the time folks, dont vote yes and change your mind if you arent sure. there is a lot of planning and work to be done, and like Logan, I am busy as hell with my personal life. I am not asking for anything more than honest replies. To be perfectly honest, I would rather plan the WDC for 20 cars again as opposed to 85+ now.
I have lodging at a very nice hotel not far from Woodward set up for 85 rooms.
I have Milan Dragstrip locked down for our racing.
I have tentative plans involving Ford, they wont have the test track remodel completed by then, but want to host us at some type of function.
Lidio is committed to hosting a Marauder Dyno Day, and will be available in the days preceeding the WDC to tune and work on Marauders.
What is obvious is that you dont want MVIII to be at the WDC, and would perhaps rather host it at your event at your house. If thats the case, so be it. Good luck. You pretty much tore to shreds everyting about the WDC event that you actually have no knowledge of and are pretty much talking out your azz, might help to have your facts together when flaming someones work and efforts.
I am glad "others" have brought concerns to you about MVIII at WDC Barry, because I havent recieved one negative one, and nothing but excited enthusiastic positive ones.
I will tell you this much, I have no plans on wasting my clubs efforts, funds, and time on an event that is going to get flamed. We will still host events this year, but not on a grand scale, rather on a scale that a local club can enjoy without too much trouble.
I havent been online much with the move, and just got my cable modem hooked up....I was excited when I read Logan's Private Message endorsing and supporting WCD for MVIII, but that excitement was dashed when I read your post Barry.
You guys decide, 84 people committed to supporting and attending MVIII at WDC, let me know if the interest is there I may continue planning, if not, I vote for MVIII at Barry's. When all is said and done, Its just a d*mn car. Like Logan, I can find about a million better things to do with my time.
Let me know....

Uh, say what? MV I ring a friggin bell? We were kinda competing with ooooooooooh, about 30,000 other people. What are you smokin' cracka'?
...and don't be telling ME what the hell needs spelling out. Want something spelled out? Fine, here you go.
Yes, MV-III IS now officially wrapped around woodward.
If you don't want to go, don't. I don't care. Honest, I don't.
Both Marauderville's that have happened have had their share of people going, "Oh you can't do that...", "I'm not gonna come then...", "There's no way you can rent your own track", "It's going to be a complete bust"...
You know, both times, all y'all with big mouths have been so completely bloody wrong it isn't even funny, (Well it is, those of you who opened your mouths look like morons), so shut the heck up and have a little faith or stay the heck out of the way of folks planning on having a good time.
Argh, y'all aggravate me.
This isn't a damn debate, and quite honestly, Dave, do what YOU want, make the event something YOU want to go to. You're in charge, make it happen. That's the only way anything gets done is by decisions being made. If I waited for a consensus on everything, MVII would still be in the planning stages. So screw the folks who don't agree, tally up what the BULK of folks want and do that, everyone else, if they don't like it, can go to Disneyland and leave the Maraudering to real enthusiasts.
This isn't open for debate. Dave, ignore Barry and his assinine comments. Barry, stopping being an ass who thinks he's know's better but hasn't had a damn thing to do with planning either MV.
Now, Don't ANYONE even think of sending me a PM over this or I'm going to meltdown and burn y'all at the stake. I don't wanna hear it. Dave's running the show, I'm helping him where I can. MV III will be an absolute blast. If you don't want to go, don't. If you do, We'll see you there and I guarantee it'll be a blast, AS ALWAYS.
Logan
