Okay, okay, this was just a test. I am testing the new thread naming convention that was suggested by some of the members.

It seems to me that the suggestion was made because the "oldbies" don't want to have to look in on the old threads they have seen in the past. Personally, I disagree with this. Most of the folks here seem to look at just about every thread. Heck, the threads about the grades James gets on his algebra tests get hundreds of hits. Now, that may be because some of the "oldies" are hoping for an Elaine siting, but nonetheless, folks look in at the threads. Elaine.....

Now everyone, particularly the "oldies" who complain about the ancient threads being resurrected, be honest and post up here and admit that you checked in even though this was supposed to be an "old" thread (at least by the suggested naming convention, anyway).

Man-oh-man, Javier, you are just too cool.

Kudos to MartyO as well. The "naming" convention was problematic for me too, because I live under another time convention in my day-to-day real life.

I'm very comfortable with MartyO's suggestion, this should be our standard, should we adopt any convention. Military time would tell me that MartyO posted his opening thread 13 Jan. 05., but I can live with 1.13.05 too.

Just date 'em correctly, K? It's '05 now Martin, not '03.

Muffler bearings...MarauderChick...Wor d association at play...Nevermind.

first of all I looked at the date and it didn't even register that it was "soppesed" to be 2 years old. Secondly, many old things become new items or have new solutions so I would have checked it anyway this one just for the fact I wanted to know what crazy bearing you were speaking about.

It seems to me that the suggestion was made because the "oldbies" don't want to have to look in on the old threads they have seen in the past. Personally, I disagree with this. In most cases I disagree as well.

The only time the old threads irritate is when their original topic applied to..... say.....

A member needed advice (two years ago), on where to go for service, or say, who has an 03 for sale....OR I spotted a MM for sale in Houston...

And then someone will add to the advice on a subject that has well run it's course and has absolutely no value to the poster as we're all pretty damn sure it WAS resolved TWO YEARS AGO!!!

Resurecting old threads that have a topic that is (theoretically) on going, or where the addition of newer, previously un-added advice is practical and helpfull to everyone is perfectly alright.

JUST MY THOUGHTS....;)

Dean my Man, this wasn't directed at you. Well okay, maybe a little. But if there is one thing that you (and all of the members) ought to know by now is to take very little of what Todd says seriously. And to take what I say even less seriously.

Seems to me to be much ado about nothing. Resurrecting old threads doesn't really happen that often and it seems to keep us on our toes. Being kinda embarrassed once or twice really makes you checks the dates a little more closely. While the naming convention does help somewhat ..... it sure seems like another Dumbing Down of the System. IMHO -- it ain't a problem so why fix it ??? :D

For the record, my Muffler Bearings are the original ones that came with the car. So far no problems at all. Bearing wear is hardly even noticeable.

My dealer sold me a new set of those at my last oil change because they were already worn out at 29K. They weren't listed on the warranty coverage so it's my cost for replacement I guess. They gave me a deal on the price though and I only had to pay $399 installed. They threw in a new belt for each while they were at it.

It's nice to know there are still honest folks out there to deal with! :)

Not a bad price considering how hard they are to find in stock and all the labor required.

and here I thought I'd see some "nasty" pictures, links to questionable sites or maybe a poll!
Resurected threads are in the eyes of the beholders - they keep us on our toes!

You best get your muffler bearings checked ASAP!!
I spun one of my OEM muffler bearings and had to replace it with aftermarket Magnaflow bearings. They are much louder than stock... :D
