Decisions, decisions....I need some help!

Ok here is my situation. I am looking for another car so that way I can stable the Cobra and let it rest durning the week and flog it on the weekends/when I have time. I have been thinking about three different cars/trucks and I would like to know what everyone thinks. Now I know that the Marauder is going to win on this board but please look at it objectivly. I am listing the pros and cons of each that I can think of. Here goes:

Mercury Marauder
Pros: Beautiful car, very exclusive, great power, always wanted one.
Cons: Premium Fuel, Insurance Rates

Ford F150 SuperCrew
Pros: Room to haul stuff, regular fuel, ok power, Cheap insurance
Cons: Thousands of them out there

Lexus IS300
Pros: Sporty 4 door, good power, nice styling
Cons: Its a Lexus, not really enough room for passengers in back seat, small trunk, premium fuel

These are just some of the things that are popping into my head now. None of the cons are big enough that I cant get over them so I am really at a loss here. I just cant get the MM out of my head and after watching that commercial for them it is even more in my head. So please let me know what you all think.

F150 is nice but the Marauder is more luxurious.

The Lexus, I wouldn't even consider it. I've heard they have their own set of problems.

With the discounts on the MM it's a LOT less to buy than the Super Crew, and, true you pay more for gas, but use less, so that's a wash. Insurance? Depending on the company ... mine was less than $100/year more. Now, add in the grin factor, the cool factor, and all the rest of the great things about the Marauder, and it's a no brainer ......get the ricer :rofl:

LOL, yeah I know....I was just looking for some more opinions. I am pretty sure which way I am leaning, just making sure I cover all the bases.

I would say go with the F-150:)

Gas will cost you more with the truck because you will only get 12MPG vs. 21for Marauder. True the Merc uses premium but less of it:)

Crew cab will hold its value F series is #1 28 years in a row.:):):)

But then again I am a pick-up man :D

Not enough information here to help you with your pick. What will you be doing with the 2nd vehicle during the week? What are your routine requirements to haul passengers or cargo? If it is just a go to work and come home car ..... get a darn Honda Insight or Hybrid and beat it to death. A Marauder ain't just transportation ..... it is an experience. :D Either you do or you don't ............... :rolleyes: This was an easy decision for "those that do"........... :cool:

I don't know enough about your needs, the Lexus??? please get real...there are cars made by Lexus I would consider, sure as hell not an IS300.

Bottom line the Marauder is a special car, not a daily beater. If you have a real need to haul cargo get the pick-up.

Get the Marauder only if looking at it makes your pulse quicken....

Instead of the F-150 go for the F-250 Superduty 6.0L Diesel more HP and TQ. :D

Well it looks like you are going to go with the p/u.But think about it .when on the highway people will move out of your way for 2 reasons either your a cop or just to look at it.you'll have to stay behind traffic with the truck .The Marauder even out classes , out performs the mercedes c500 (i think thats what it was) for 50k less.impressive huh :up: .21 milesto the gal :hmmm: ok
Unless your haulin trash , construction , or a$$ i'd go with the Marauder..

Well as I suspected the majority is for the Marauder. That is really the direction that I am leaning. Thanks for everyones input and I am pretty sure I will be joining the Marauder family soon.

Buy a Marauder, mildly modify it and enjoy.

Heck....unless you have a mildly modded Cobra....which many many people have....you could heavily modify the Marauder and be faster.


I see Cobras all the time....I love the exclusivity of the Marauder. Imagine the looks you'll get with an high 11 sec or low 12 second Marauder. Much more than the Cobras which are there all the time....and many of them to boot.

You know the insurance suprised me.... it was one of the cheapest rates of my cars. Three hundred more a month for a 99 toyota 4 runner.ha anyway my 2004 mm kick's a$$.

I just had the same problem. I got the MM, sold the beater F250, the mini van and the cobra are for sale. When one sells, the other stays. The MM will become the family transport or the weekend cruzer. I still dont know which way to hope on this. I know guys, we already discussed this.... and you all say keep two kewl cars, but I really like the MM and want to keep it as nice as I can. Now that I have hijacked the thread, I return you to the topic of the conversation. Thanks for the rant.

Yes that would be great, my MM, my 94 F150 and my For Sale Volvo 850R Wagon in front of my house...maybe I better use the parents place when they're out of town, and put my moms S430 Sport in there too, and use photoshop and put 22s on everything....
